That is actually a good question: do we always chase what we want? Rather, is there a difference between wanting something and thinking we want something? Or does thinking we want something automatically mean that, for a short time, we actually want it?

It depends on how one perceives the situation. Say person A buys a coffee. Person A goes on about how good the coffee is and suddenly Person B just HAS to get some too. Does that mean Person B truly wanted the coffee or did Person A influence Person B to do something he did not want?

I do believe it is possible for someone to do something based off of another position. Example: Peer Pressure.
