Motion of No Confidence
#11

The facts are this, regardless of what happens here all four of you are going to have a hard time being re elected. It has come to light that toxicity has entered our government at the highest levels. The 50:50 split of ideaology is unfortunate but not the issue here. The issue is minister behaviour. While it is most likely true that Roavin is speaking from a biased position, I cannot in good faith believe that Tim and Escade are completely innocent here. I would say that all four of you have breach a very basic trust that we legislators afford your our ministers. It is your unspoken duty to put your agendas aside and work with eachother to protect tsp. You have broken that ideal with your behaviour. And unless I see at the very least a show of accountability in this thread from each of you. I for one will not be supporting any of your re election campaigns in the coming election.

I would like to follow up with a statement the exact wording of article 2 of section XI is as follows :

“2. A Motion of No Confidence may be initiated by the Assembly, if the members have lost faith in the effectiveness and activities of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet. Motions of No Confidence must be debated for three days and receive a motion and a second before being moved to vote. Passage requires three-fifths majority support of those voting, and triggers a special election for all cabinet offices.”

This means that should you, as a legislator, truly believe that the current cabinet cannot properly function, there is no reason to vote against this motion. While I personally cannot support a recall at this time. I cannot say with 100% faith that our current cabinet is capable of fulfilling its functions. It is up to you to decide which is more important to you. A functional cabinet? Or a proper election cycle. Keep in mind that NONE of our current cabinet members should run in a special election should one be called that would be a breach of good faith. My opinion is that recall is not necessary. Decide for yourself what your opinion is.

I wouldn't throw the word toxicity around lightly. What does toxicity here mean? Arguments? Those are part and parcel of four people being elected on different platforms having to democratically agree on things. That is the beauty of democracy, otherwise, why do we have ministers in the first place?

In fact with the definition being applied one might argue that the majority of TSP cabinets have been toxic which I think is unreasonable.

I don't think any member of the cabinet here is without flaws. I'm usually very upfront with mine.  I just think it is highly disingenuous that a Prime Minister, who has been leading the cabinet for over a year, has chosen to present a biased and impartial account of things. I'm really disappointed about the lack of communication and the attempts at character assassination. It's highly undignified.

There are some things in cabinet decisions that are opsec by nature so we can't really discuss them in good faith without some form of permission. However, to make it clear, if I am accusing someone of violating the law I will bring it up to the CRS (and have done so in the past). To speak to someone privately about possible suspicions is normal and a sign of trust that has now been broken. I would like to apologize to Somy about that because it was an unjustified suspicion and one that I didn't pursue in any tangible way.

I would hope that if there are any questions of me you will ask me either via DM, or here, or anywhere.

I've never run for a position knowing I would win for sure and as most people close to me know I always think I may lose.  The things I do for TSP, I would do anyway because since April of 2013, when I joined this region, I did many things without holding a position at all.  People who want to do things for their region don't need titles.

I have faith in the people of this region.

Drawing on Serres' post, won't the three day minimum debate time result in the vote coinciding with the election period?

I’m outside the Cabinet and can say that this is merited, based on my experience working under Tim in the MoFA Team. I will have more to say tomorrow, as I have plans for tonight irl. But the timing of this, unfortunate as it may be, is the result of recent events (that the region is currently unaware of, but will be made aware) breaking the camel’s back.

This would replace the regular election

Honestly? Regardless of who did what or who's at fault: if it has seriously come to this maybe you all should be recalled, regardless of the election. I've been aware that there was some tension going on between a couple of you back in the beginning of the term, but I figured in time it'd blow over. If y'all seriously haven't gotten your act together by now, we should recall you at least to prove the point to future cabinets that this kind of borderline-childish behavior won't be tolerated, from anyone.
An eye for an eye just makes the whole world go blind.

I have some questions for the Cabinet.

1. None of you are new players. Prior to the beginning of this term, did any of you have any concerns about your ability to work with other members of this cabinet?

2. At what point did you realise that there were potentially unworkable problems within the cabinet?

3. What steps have you taken as a team in an attempt to solve these problems?

4. Were you all fully aware of the problems within the cabinet, and the potential consequences of these?
Did some LC, MoRA, CRS stuff in the past. Do a lot of World Census stuff now.
