If there are no further comments, perhaps we can adopt the above proposal.

We have discussed alternative structures. I was thinking these should be implemented.

Below is a proposal combining yours, mine and GI-land's.

Treasure Island
  • Meta (I believe moving guides to the wiki is a better idea, then what would remain are meta threads and and requests for help, hence the new name. This subforum isn't used a lot, but I can't think of anywhere else to place its contents.)
  • Pacifica Canon (Renamed to reflect that we have at least two well established canons. I'm thinking the regional and Pacifica map threads could be moved to this level and get pinned. Doing this, Facts and Maps can be consolidated.)
    • World Forum
    • Media
    • Facts (Facts and Maps consolidated.)
    • Embassies (While many of us want to archive these threads, I believe it's best to let them stay for a little while longer in order to be sure what to do with them)
  • Additional Canons (Renamed to reflect that we have a least one well-established canon in this subforum)
    • A1-0 Canon (Sci-Fi is renamed since the RPs there are in a specific canon, not just any sci-fi)
    • Aurora Canon (Fantasy is renamed since there's a new map there that is to be used in its own canon, not just any fantasy RP)

That looks good to me for the most part. I just have some comments:

1. I'd prefer to archive Meta. It isn't used that much, if at all, so any OOC threads should probably just go in the Pacific and Additional sections.

2. I think Embassies should be archived as well, but that's more of a personal preference so I'm not really willing to have a full debate over it. If the community wants it to stay that's fine with me, even if I disagree.

3. I'm not sure Additional Canons needs those two subdivisions. A1-0 does have activity, but I don't see Aurora having so much activity that it needs a separate section. I wonder if it might not be more convenient to just implement thread prefixes that people could use to differentiate between canons.

1. I agree it's not used that much, and a lot can probably be placed in the respective canons. But certain stuff, like the Treasure Island Awards and the Nation Showcase Week do not really belong elsewhere. What should we do with them?

2. I've asked for feedback from the community regarding archiving them. So far it seems like few would miss them but it's probably best to wait for a while before we archive them.

3. Aurora does not need its own subforum if we only look at activity, but we are hoping that Aurora will see much more activity in the future. Giving it its own subforum helps promote it. It's supposed to complete the offer of RPs in TSP. The same applies to A1-0, but it's self-sustaining and quite active (even though it ofc suffers from periods of slight inactivity from time to time, just like Pacifica).

What about Celebration Pavilion?

I'd be alright with keeping those then, but I do think that looking ahead the standard should be that if we see that the activity there doesn't merit a subforum then they should be merged into the upper level subforum. It doesn't do any good to have little used subforums, after all.

Makes sense.

Now that I think about it the suggested proposal by Kris sounds good. I don't check the RP forums often enough, so having them at the top would definitely help, as well as getting more people involved who previously didn't know about it.

-- Operations Centre (admin and mod requests)
---- Moderation Back Office (moderation discussion)
---- Administration Back Office (administration discussion)

Treasure Island
-- Pacifica (consolidating Main Canon, Diplomacy, and Embassies)
---- World Forum (WF discussion)
---- Diplomacy (embassies)
---- Media (national news)
---- Facts and Maps (consolidating Facts and Maps)
-- Extra-Canon (non-Pacifica roleplay)
---- A1-0 (FT canon)
---- Aurora (Fantasy canon)

Government District
-- Assembly (public legislative discussion)
---- Private Hall (private legislative discussion)
---- Voting Chamber (voting)
---- THE MATT-DUCK Law Archive (laws, resolutions, and treaties)
-- Cabinet (public executive discussion and announcements)
---- Cabinet Office (private Cabinet discussion)
---- Ministry Private Offices (one password-protected subforum per ministry)
-- High Court (case submissions)
---- Conference Room (case deliberation and private judicial business)
---- ORCS and CSS (links)
-- Regional Security (public security announcements)
---- Cantina of Requisite Sustenance (private CSS discussion)

-- Former Forums
