#11

First, Tsu's proposal is mostly what we have right now.
Second, times change, and so do our requirements and goals!

Do we have to look at this front page every time we visit the forum?

Otherwise, it looks good.

I could check if we could make that a user setting via plugin or such, if we were to go that route.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I would like to see only one theme used on the forum. That way, developments can be made without having to worry if it will work across all the varying themes.

I also quite like what Europeia has with their forum headers and the links within it. Is a similar thing possible here?

There are pros and cons here. @sandaoguo ?

Below is my rough proposal for a forum reorganisation.

I am not quite sure what to do with the Civic and Political Organization Center as its stated purpose — "A place where nations can discuss civic issues in the region and build political organizations. When a political party is big enough and active, they can apply for their own subforum" — no longer seems current. Could it be folded into another sub-forum?

PORT BERRY
Docklands Information Centre
A comprehensive library of educational threads created largely from what is currently being worked on in the Dispatch Reform. This will include guides to TSP's government, our forum, dispatch writing, etc.
Office of Immigration and Registration
Functions similarly to the Welcome and Registration Centre; wherein the Legislator Committee and Ministry of Foreign Affairs will process Legislator applications for foreign diplomat credentials, respectively.
Waterpark Central
Similar to the Lampshade District. Given the amount of activity which currently goes on in the district, it would make sense to provide it with a prominent placing so as to attract newcomers and display our posting prowess for the whole world to gawk at.
FUDGETOPIA GOVERNMENT CENTRE
Assembly
Self-explanatory.
Executive Offices
Self-explanatory.
High Court
Self-explanatory.
Council on Regional Security
Self-explanatory.
Local Council Offices
Self-explanatory.
Embassy Row
Self-explanatory.
Treasure Island
As Roavin has suggested above, we should allow Treasure Island to organise themselves.
'INSERT NAME *cough* Kringle *cough*' MUSEUEM OF HISTORY
Archives
Self-explanatory.
Former Forums
Self-explanatory.

There are a few good and a few less than good things there, but before I get into the nitty gritty (later today), I think the specifics of the forum layout also depends on whether we have a landing/portal/welcome page or not. If we do, then we can just organize the forum in whichever way is most logical, but if we don't, then we need to worry more about placing things in an intuitive manner for new, unknown people.

Port Berry, as proposed, would be for the latter scenario, probably.

Port Berry sounds like a hip frozen yoghurt place.

I am in favour of a landing page regardless. Is there a selection of layouts available or is this the only one?
