[DRAFT]Assembly Resolution on the Osiris-Lazarus War

While I agree with everything said against Punchwoods opinion, he does raise an important question. Why should government officials of foreign regions (not even an ally region) have the right to question who is unfit for TSP's government over a smart-ass remark no-less? Is that not in the slightest bit a conflict of interest? Cormac first claimed that he had TSP's best interests in mind:

Quote:I move for the recall of Sandaoguo as Minister of Foreign Affairs. The South Pacific needs to be represented by someone who can actually conduct diplomacy with other regions, rather than insulting as many regions as possible and damaging relations with as many non-defender regions as he can over the course of his multiple terms. This region has not elected a diplomat to manage its foreign affairs, it has elected a saboteur.

Quote:My concern here is the impact that Glen as MoFA is having on The South Pacific. Believe it or not, though I appreciate that some of you have an inflated view of your own importance, Osiris doesn't care what The South Pacific does or doesn't do in regard to its own government officials. Osiris does not regard The South Pacific as important enough to meddle in its internal affairs to achieve any Osiran objectives, even if Osiris were inclined to behave in such a way, which it isn't. And believe me when I say that there isn't an imperialist in existence who believes that the success of either independence or imperialism hinges on The South Pacific.

Get over yourselves. If I were going to meddle in a region for foreign interests there would be more relevant candidates.

but later on said he doesn't care in the slightest:

Quote:I honestly don't care anymore, after having my character unjustifiably attacked not only by Glen -- which I expected -- but by Southern Bellz. If the other citizens of TSP want to keep a Minister of Foreign Affairs who is wrecking the region's diplomatic standing because they don't like my attitude:

a) That is a ridiculous reason for any government decision.
b) TSP deserves whatever it gets as a result of retaining Glen.

But no, I will not behave in a calm, collected, respectful manner when others are treating me like dirt. I've never done anything in this region to warrant that kind of treatment and if I'm going to be baselessly accused of being a villain, I'll act like one.

Having changed his opinion so radically does that not raise a little suspicion as to his intent in the first place? I understand that there is an unwritten Code of Conduct that everyone should follow, but having abandoned his supposed view so suddenly means this was no longer of political interest, but personal. His anger got the best of him and led him to an unfortunate and rash decision. This has probably happened quite a few times as well due to his temper tantrums.

As an Independent region, the decision to remove a government official should remain with those who have the regions best interests in mind i.e TSP's government and it's citizens. While I'm not saying that TSP should ignore the criticism from foreign powers, they should not however, have the right to make such motions so carelessly.

That is not the topic of this thread. We should all go back to discussing how to word an Assembly resolution about the Osiris-Lazarus War.

I raise up lost of impotent questions I like changing peoples minds about things everything I say has a point to it like that. Even what I am typing right now has a point yet most people notice. You change that quickly I guess you don't want to talk about it. But yes lets get back to the point.

I'm in favor of the wording proposed by Bel. It is short and sweet.

Going to have to say Bel's announcement works for me. Don't really need to get involved when nothing's really been done at this point anyway. Better to react than to join the war anyway.

And Punchwood, that's enough. Anyone who's a citizen of TSP is welcome to add their input, even if they don't agree with you.

I respect the right of the Assembly to declare our neutrality and welcome a neutrality as a policy, but disagree with the conclusion that Lazarus committed an act of hostility against Osiris. Was their relationship handled in a highly irresponsible manner, absolutely. However, I don't believe that is the same as being hostile. I will vote against this should it be motioned to a vote.

I'm happy to alter the wording if you feel that we can remain neutral without using section four.

I really think we should wait at least until TSP and Lazarus have held talks about the war.

I agree. I think it would be a good idea to wait and talk with Lazarus before we make any declarations of our stance. I think we owe it to our allies to have talks before deciding what our action will be.
