The Senate has passed a bill to raise the Commonwealth speed limits. Major (raised) highways will see the largest increase - from 55 MPH to 70 MPH. Local (ground) highways will be raised from 55 MPH to 65 MPH. The bill now goes to the president, who is expected to sign it into law.
