How am I supposed to find my area if I don't know length or width or anything relevant?
Sorry for clogging up, but one cannot just simply explain it simply in one post.

You DO know that there is a measurement thing ON the map? In the Map Legend?

This thread is going off-topic, but an important discussion has occurred. Let's continue.
I agree that there should be some guidelines for MT role-play, like for population, GDP, technology etc. But we should still allow for some tweaks, like a floating city for example (which is entirely feasible).

Would this include some "blurred Lined" areas, like Colombia and Rapture from Bioshock(cuz they're "tech" is from the 1950's)?

Large underwater cities are probably not yet feasible.

But that doesn't mean they're not being thought of.
I say airborne and underground cities really loosely. They are that, but in a real sort of way.

Well, we do have an international sealab that doubles as a mining facility.

You DO know that there is a measurement thing ON the map? In the Map Legend? Yes, but my nation isn't exactly rectangular. So it would be extremely difficult to use it to measure every single side.

In my opinion, that should not be a problem at all

Yes. I calculated the area of Sedunn by approximating it as a triangle. I have so far not used it though, and has role-played it as a larger nation.
The area doesn't need to be calculated down to the last pixel, an approximation will do fine, and can be used for determining a feasible population, for example.
