I find your lack of faith disturbing...
References aside, Hammery is right, so many species in MT would be not only awkward but would also raise quite a few complications. Alternate ethnicities and a few slightly wilder changes, I'm okay with. Heck even, Hammery's Homo Livis is kind of alright, taking into consideration they are all dead.
