"I am eager to learn more about the Imperium, and if possible I hope to travel to your worlds and make first contact with all races. In the Treecuu Star Empire we deeply respect different cultures, and every world is granted the right to freely preserve and shape their own. It is therefore important for me, with my background, to know about the most important local customs on worlds I visit. Is there anything in particular I need to know about the races in the Imperium?"
"Well for one, if you are on a Yapatha colony or their homeworld and are offered lodging by anyone there, be prepared to be treated as part of their family. They take hospitality very seriously and go out of their way to ensure maximum comfort for all in their household due to their cultural inclination towards cooperation."
"And if one would like to show them one's gratitude, by for example assisting with the housekeeping, would that be considered an offence, or would they let you to?"
"They would gladly accept the offer. Yapatha culture encourages cooperation and harmony as a general rule, even encouraging cooperation at all ages through use of games and the telling of fables."
"That sounds delightful. And thank you for the advice. Anything else one should know when meeting the races of the Imperium?"
"If you are on a Sosa-controlled world, don't be alarmed at how some of the clans can be... boisterous. Despite having a history of being proud and honorable warriors to the point that many of their commando units have become lauded for their courage and heroism, they wear their hearts on their sleeves, as the Humans in our borders would say."
"Sounds like a passionate people. Your Imperium clearly is a very diverse nation too."
"Indeed it is. In fact, one of the primary missions of the Imperial Exploration Corps is to make contact with industrialized and spacefaring worlds and welcome them to the galactic community."
"That is an interesting organisation. Maybe something similar could be considered, now that we have a new policy on exploration and international relations."
