IIN Interview Broadcasts
#61

"It should be considered a government's sacred duty to do so.  It is heavily encouraged that the Emperor, his predecessors, and members of the Senate spend days or even weeks at a time with their constituents.  His Imperial Majesty loves frequenting schools and restaurants to delight people."

"And no doubt the people appreciate it greatly" smiled Teemas.

"Aye, that they do," Numonis grinned at her guest.  "A surprise for many, to be sure, but a welcome one nonetheless."

She looked at her datapad, raising a brow subtly.  "Looks like we have another caller.  Durok of Clan Lornath, from the capital of the Sosa Republic."

After putting the transmission through, a stocky, ursine creature with a lightly scarred face appeared on the holoprojector.  "Good to have you on the show, Warrior."

"The feeling is mutual, Madame Numonis."  The alien turned his gaze to Teemas, leaning as closely as he could despite being light-years away.  "You've made quite a name for yourself, Emissary Teemas.  Your visit to Imperial space has caused quite a stir among the clans."

"Hi, Durok of Clan Lornath. I was not aware. How did I 'cause a stir'?"

"Many of the clans are divided on your testimony regarding the reason of your visit, though most of the Chieftains are content to wait to see how things... 'pan out', as humans put it.  A very odd figure of speech, my opinion..."

"There are mainly two reasons why I have been sent here. First of all I needed to explain the unfortunate situation on the Aryyt't home world and the false message relayed by the probe coming from said planet. This was urgent. The other reason is the new foreign policy that aims to open the Treecuu Star Empire up to the rest of the sector and integrate it into this great community.

As you may know, me and the Emperor have made an arrangement to visit the Aryyt't home world, and your authorities will be able to investigate the matter further. The Chieftains are wise in their decision to 'wait to see how things... 'pan out'."

"The young Emperor did sound eager to visit their planet during that press conference. This does, however, raise a question that has been on my mind for the past few days."
