A resolution to form an international labour and trade council

A resolution proposed by Ambassador Marcus Bailey of the Valkyrian Republic.

Section A — Introduction

To establish freer and fairer trade, we hereby establish the International Labour and Trade Council (which shall be referred to as the "ILTC" throughout the rest of the resolution).

Section B — Mandate

The ILTC shall
- Be an international organisation featuring the voluntary membership of states within the World Forum,
- Be responsible for gathering data volunteered by member states on matters of labour and trade,
- Review the legislation of states and sub-states on the matters of labour and trade and compare the differences and similarities, and
- Issue policy recommendations with the intent of achieving the harmonisation of labour and trade law.

Section C — Organisational structure

The ILTC shall be headed by a director-general who shall be elected by a simple majority vote in the Committee for the Economy.
The director-general shall serve for a term of six months.
The Committee for the Economy shall determine, by a simple majority vote, the headquarters of the ILTC.

Sedunn welcomes this initiative. We have one suggestion: instead of the Assembly, the Committee for the Economy could decide the location of the headquarters of the ILTC.

Since no state has objected to the motion to vote, we shall begin the procedure. This resolution, entitled "A resolution to form an international labour and trade council", shall be put to a vote and must have a majority in favour in order to pass. I encourage all member states to thoroughly review the proposed resolution before casting their votes. Because my state is the author of this resolution, the Valkyrian Republic votes to abstain.
