Zett Island

RIM Commander Konicki changed gears as he realized that the Martyr tactics were useless against the enemy. He ordered the remaining regulars to begin a guerilla campaign. If they couldn't break them in a conventional fight, then they will stretch the enemy to the limits in a grueling campaign. The Task Force rigged i.e.d.s and other booby traps throughout the jungle. The Task force also changed the roles of the Martyrs into laborers who dug tunnels for the Task force so that they could move around the island with ease. The Task Force also engaged in hit and run attacks against the Foreigners and RDC at dusk or night before slinking away before the light of dawn penetrated the island jungle.
Since the RIM's liberation of the maximum securith prison in FiHami, several others had escaped from Prison and set themselves over on the waters on makeshift rafts, hoping to be caught by RIM forces, motivated by the promises made by their liberators. Though the imperial family was likely extinct, they maintained strong hopes for reclaiming their land once again from the Finixi. They would give the RIM 100%, hoping for their aid in reconquering FiHami in return.
THE PRESIDENTIAL MANSION
BELMONT, BZERNELEG "Mr. President, your intelligence briefing, sir," addressed the Director of National Intelligence, Mr. Ralph Corcoran, as he approaches the President's desk. They shake hands and the President welcomes Mr. Corcoran to take a seat. "Why isn't my usual aide-de-camp handing me this, Mr. Corcoran," asked the President while scanning through the brief, "is there something particularly important you want to inform me about?" "Compiling results from the most recent aerial reconnaissance missions, we have reason to believe that the RIM is prepping to take action against our forces on Zett Island. As you can see, there was troop buildup in areas near the Southern coast of Reizen, where the RIM is in control. There is no indication, however, of heavy weapons anywhere." "I see," the President replied simply. The vague response very much surprises Mr. Corcoran, who expected an order for action of some kind. "We will not respond to their buildup, Mr. Corcoran. I do not want us to get stuck in playing their game." "But, if they want to attack us in some ways, and to mitigate offensives from other factions, here's what I propose: we make sure that normal life runs again on Zett Island, it will no longer be a war zone, and we will voluntarily protect it from any danger. We will introduce civilians on the island and build temporary housing and services for basic needs. That way, any attacker will have to think twice before doing whatever the hell they're doing," proclaimed the President. "I understand, sir," replied hesitantly Mr. Corcoran. "Good," said the President, "thank you for today, Ralph." "Pleasure, sir," said Mr. Corcoran as he prepares to leave. BZERNELEG

The latest development in Reizen are worrying us deeply: despite the ceasefire among other forces, RIM keep gaining allies and ground. As the guarantor of the WPR, we fear that sooner or later we’ll have to directly intervene on the ground in favour of our comrades, an eventuality which we would like to avoid if possible. I have a proposal to male, but first I’d like to hear from you how the Empire intend to handle the situation at this point”.
The following letter was sent to the Reizen Democratic Coalition.

The general offensive to defeat the RIM is making progress and they are losing ground. However, in their growing desperation, the rim seem to be committing themselves to foreign raids for troops and supplies. Meanwhile the Bzerne government has abused the fragile cease fire to violate our sovereignty. Furthermore, Minister Kirihito of the WPR has agreed to talk with us this time instead of allowing the WPR to leave the cease fire despite the RDC’s tacit approval of the Bzerne action clearly jeopardizes the ceasefire. That is unless you wish to have a word with him before he discusses the possible consequences of the Bzern and RDC with my Sedunnic counterparts and I.”

Zero City, Zett Island
President BlytheThe Reizen Democratic Coalition understands and forgives your government for not consulting us before declaring the Island your Protectorate. As you probably may have noticed, the Reizen Democratic Coalition has been struggling to pick up the pieces since the disappearance of former President Arata Minshu. President Minshu hoped to strengthen our mutually beneficial ties before his disappearance, and I hope to continue in his footsteps. We also hope to be more involved in the shaping of public policy in Reizen so that we have a democratic government. However, I am afraid that your declaration may have unintended consequences that neither you nor I can predict. While the WPR has yet to leave the Grovne Cease Fire, we do know that their history of tantrums may cause them to once again falsely blame us and leave the coalition. Furthermore, while the RDC is lucky enough not to have an Imperial Garrison to backstab us, the Empire, may ease their blockade allowing the RIM to harm us. But this is just speculation as they have many options to choose, while the fanatical RIM remain dug in on the island. Despite these concerns, We are ever grateful for your assistance in bringing liberty and democracy back to Reizen Regards, Raku Denji Raku Denji Interim President Reizen Democratic Coalition

Meanwhile, as I was saying, I have a proposal: as RIM is becoming even more dangerous and unpredictable, I believe it would be beneficial to cohordinate the military efforts of our comrades with yours. A joint offensive could yield far better results than individual ones". |
