Zett Company, 2nd Batallion
Zett Island

"All rise!" shouted Lieutenant Dorval, after which all company soldiers stood uniformly.

"Capitaneus Carolus!" introduced the lieutenant in Latin, the company captain.

The crowd then sat after an exchange of salutes between the captain and the soldiers.

"Mes compagnons," said Captain Charles, "last night, an order was given from the [Southeastern] Command that will change our objectives and functions in Zett Island."

"Starting from today, we are to refrain from deliberately attacking our enemies. We shall maintain our defense against the enemies."

"In spite of that, the Bzerne Forces, we, will expand our territory to achieve full control of the Zett Island!"

"For that reason, I ask you, my friends, to not be swayed by the evil motives of our attackers."

"Follow the order, defend and expand this territory, in the spirit of peace and liberty."

The captain's foot stomp leads to a salute from his comrades.

"I understand your concerns regarding our move in Reizen; it is a decision we have not taken lightly. I fully share your strategic considerations regarding maritime trade and we would gladly partner with Huawan in this regard. Given our interest in this defence pact, I'd like to ask if you could provide some more details regarding the specifics you have in mind, about the commitment each side is asked to undertake".

Protection of our vessels and your vessels in respective maritime zones. Cooperation in neutralizing any threats that may come towards commercial or passenger vessels, relieving any attack that may come towards our vessels and engaging if necessary.

Such agreements are viable for two years, or if both parties decide to cancel the treaty in good reason. I trust these should be enough?

As members of the Legion search for the missiles and the virus cure. Tensions continue to rise in the Reizen theater, and camp sanctuary slowly begins rebuilding effort for Reizen along with other humanitarian organizations. The People's council and the Royal Council does not wish to get into the conflict, and is somewhat feeling a bittersweet taste that Sedunn, one of its allies, is entering the conflict.

The Peony doesn't want to know what sort of backhanded deal Doctor Kane is making with The Broker and RIM, she is however noting Kai Fa's involvement in the theatre, and an access to her naval territorial zones might prove useful.

She made the suggestion with the Imperial Military Advisor, and after several discussions. She decided to send the RPSV. Shangxiang and the RPSV. Changi. Both an aircraft carrier and a battle cruiser to dock in the coast of Kai Fa, standing by and primed for action.

"On the first point, you find me in complete agreement. On the second, if it is your desire for it to work also outside our territorial waters, prudence suggets a caveat: both parties should consult the other before undertaking military actions".

Battle of Credence Airfield First night 03:00 local time

Convoy Echo
Sgt. Ko Mimasaka grimaced as she scanned the darkness for the enemy. Her heavy machine gun swiveled slowly from left to right, following the Sergeant's eyes. She could hear the muffled laughter of the driver and passenger of the technical over the sound of the engine. But that laughter betrayed a sense of nervousness, they knew that elsewhere other convoys were being attacked by enemy forces who slipped past the net.

The Convoy continued along the road before slowing down to a halt as the Convoy Commander noticed that the area in front of them appeared to be a potential ambush site. The headset crackled to life in the Sergeant's ear as she heard the Convoy Commander's gruff voice, "Mimasaka, We just got word that Oko's Convoy got hit at a ridge and lost several artillery pieces. I want you and Shimura's crew to scout ahead check those hills for an ambush so that we don't end up like her."

The Sergeant replied, "understood sir, what's the status of Oko's convoy sir?" "They've lost half their convoy and Convoy Commander Oko is 'lightly injured', don't worry about them Sergeant, and worry about this convoy." the Convoy Commander responded. The Sergeant sighed as she tapped the hood of the technical and spoke, "Boy's we're on recon. Lets get this over with and hope nothings there." The driver and passenger responded with a terse, "Aye Sarge." as the technical drove slowly forward while a second technical followed close besides them.

The two technicals drove quickly to make a pass of potential ambush points when an explosion enveloped Shimura's vehicle just before he could approach a hill.

"#$%^ AMBUSH!" Cried out the Sergeant swiveling the gun towards the hill and opening fire. The Driver hit the gas as the passenger opened his window and joined the Sergeant in firing on the hill. The hill lit up with the flash of enemy gunfire targeting the technical and the front of the convoy. Sgt. Mimasaka cursed again as she spoke into the headset mic, "Enemy ambush on Hill 32. I repeat, enemy ambush on Hill 32. Request permission to withdraw and-" The convoy commander's voice cut in, "Negative, you may not withdraw, you will assault their positions, I will dispatch additional reinforcements from the convoy to assist you but you are to exterminate all enemy forces."

Sergeant Mimasaka responded, "Sir, that is suici-"  "You will AVENGE SHIMURA! I repeat. You will AVENGE SHIMURA, Do I make myself clear?" Roared the Convoy Commander as he signalled several technicals to join Mimasaka. "Crystal" responded the Sergeant grudgingly as the technical weaved around enemy fire, the Sergeant doing her best to return fire at the hill. Meanwhile several technicals rushed in to assault the hill and join the Sergeant in attacking the enemy defenders.

First Battlegroup

Commander Ikko grimaced as he watched the Martyrs and Regulars withdraw from the airfield in yet another failed assault. The Commander had hoped that their initial assault would have taken them by surprise at midnight. However, the first assault failed as an enemy flared revealed their location just before they could breach the Sedunnic fortifications forcing them to retreat and start the meat grinder strategy leading to a bloody stalemate hours later.

Commander Ikko sighed as he lowered himself into a makeshift trench headquarters and growled at a messenger, "send in the next wave. Don't give the Sedunners time to rest." The messenger silently nodded as he disappeared into the darkness relaying the Commander's order to send the next wave.

RIM NAMELESS OPERATION THORN: TRANSSUNERIA Admiral Saul's POV

The operation to sow chaos in the region was a go. The Nameless and their Transsunerian counterparts have started the fight to take the island. Meanwhile the Admiral and his sub fleet maintained an underwater blockade of the island. "Admiral we have several coast guard vessels approaching the fleet. Shall we engage?" asked an officer. "of course." replied the admiral before he continued "Flood torpedo tubes 1 through 4. All hands prepare for battle."

RIM NAMELESS OPERATION THORN: FiHami Maximum Security Prison

Several Nameless Operatives led by Commander "Null" successfully infiltrated the FiHami Maximum Security Prison, which housed several hundred Antarchi fighters. The Commander sighed as he silently strangled a poor Finixi guard with a garrote wire in the shadows. After confirming the guards passing, Null quietly signaled for the others to advance and find a room or officer who can unlock all the cell doors.

Null, like other members of the Nameless didn't care about the FiHami-Antarchi Conflict, but the RIM needed soldiers to die for the cause. The RIM High Command, for good or ill, believed that the defeated Antarchi could be enticed to die for the RIM in exchange for the nebulous promise that the RIM will help them retake FiHami from the Finixi. 'Perhaps these men would sell their souls for a shot at revenge..' thought Null as he and another operative took control of a communications room.

A voice crackled to life in Null's headset, "Commander, we've succeeded in securing the objective but we have a situation." "What is it Void?" Null asked, "A Finixi guard has sounded an alarm shortly before they could be terminated. We expect them to send reinforcements to secure the base." Void responded.
"Understood, We've secured the Communications room, we'll play the message on our end, You open the cell doors." said Null "roger Commander, out." Void responded.

Null turned to an operative and asked, "Is the PA system online?" The operative nods gesturing to a microphone. Null then sighs as he approaches the mic and spoke, "Attention Prisoners, this is the Reizen Independence Army Special Forces Commander Null. We are here to recruit you into the cause after your crushing defeat at the hands of rabble. If you wish to restore your freedom and power, join us against our enemies and the RIM will help you take back what is rightfully yours. For those who are hesitant you are free to remain here and be massacred by the Finixi, who hold an irrational hatred for you. Those of you who choose to join us. I say welcome aboard in advance since we’ll need to fight our way out. And for the rest who choose not to join us, you are on your own. Void. open the cells!"

"Ki Ha'Coron', there's been a break-in at the maximum-security prison. The General Militia had been authorized to take them down, but no success yet." An envoy from the office of Defence entered the house where Finix dwelled, his hair was a mess, as if he ran miles just to arrive. Finix stayed quiet for a few seconds, processing.

"Are you kidding me??? Who is doing this, I'll take them down!" Finix stood up, snatching her bow and quiver, slinging them on rapidly.

"The RIM, ki Ha'Coron'."

Finix cursed, setting her things back down.

"Why are they in FiHami, it makes no sense whatsoever. What do they want?"

"They're recruiting our prisoners, from what ground witnesses could report."

Hundreds of captured soldiers escaped their cells, responding eagerly to the RIM, cheering loudly. Anthony Thomas smiled at the sight as he followed his comrades. Sure, the last remaining monarchs of the White-Cormic family had been killed, but that didn't mean that hope was lost. A new emperor could take over, and upon helping the RIM secure their victory, the island presently known as FiHami could be retaken, followed by Antarcha, then the rest of the world. Of course, eventually the empire would have to play their cards carefully, or else the RIM could easily annhilate them.

The nation of Carta-Agot, is an odd one, to say the least. A former territory of both Harmakmis and Gordista, it is a patchwork of Cartas, Agots, and Maranos (Italians), and ideologies, they are not at all stable. With very backwards technology, they do not lead in much in the Mediterranean region, but what they do lead in, is ports. With some of the best harbours in the region (and backed by Harmak investors), they make Carta-Agot a hub for shipping. However, it can make it a hotbed for importing and exporting radical factions.

To the leaders of the Reizen Independence Movement,
Here in Cartas, we respects your fight for your people's freedom. While Agot is invested into and gets modernized, the Harmaks and Gordists neglect the larger, agricultural province of Carta. We are a people; We have a voice; and most importantly, We have a will and a right to fight! Will you, our Mediterranean brothers, except this invitation for us to join your fight, while we will join yours? The military, the ports, the roads and rails into Gordista; all is yours. Let us rise against our oppressors!

Long Live the Revolution!

Convoy Echo
Bettu Squad, 1211st Airmobile Infantry Platoon

Sergeant Havaū Keve'ienn listened carefully to the whispering voice in the comms system.

"Be advised. Lead vehicles of convoy are passing Point 22, speed approx 30 km/h. Light utilities lead. We are pulling back. Good luck."

It was a report from a spotter further down the road.

"Positions!" almost hissed Keve'ienn. She saw how her squad crawled out from cover and got their weapons ready, aiming down the left flank of the platoon, facing down a small hill. There was a pleasant sound as someone released the spring loaded sights of his single-shot recoilless anti-tank weapon.

"All right" she whispered, "they are approaching. The rest of the platoon will take out the lead vehicles to halt their advance and trap the convoy in their tracks. We will cover them as they fall back. When we get green light, we will pull out. We will have but a few minutes until several kilometres of this road is covered by our artillery."

"Questions?" The young sergeant looked at her soldiers.

"When may we fire?" asked a skinny man.

"On my command or in self-defence. We will strive to open fire simultaneously if we observe them first."

***

About ten hellish minutes had passed as sudden heavy weapons fire tore the air apart. The resulting explosions were even more terrifying. Moments later a foreign looking vehicle appeared in front of Bettu Squad.

"On observed targets, aim!" whispered Keve'ien. She waited for her soldiers to find targets within their individual sectors. Then she shouted on top of her lungs.

"Fire!"

Bettu Squad fired everything they got against the approaching RIM vehicles.

***

As soon as the platoon commander had signalled that they had withdrawn to the designated area, Keve'ien had ordered to deploy smoke to blind the RIM vehicles. They were running over an exposed field when her deputy squad leader suddenly fell. He was carrying a critically injured soldier and showed no sign of getting back up on his feet. She ordered the rest of the squad to continue their movement backwards.

As she knelt it was obvious her deputy would never get back up. There was an enormous hole in his stomach, and deformed organs were exposed. His spine was cut in half.

Some lucky RIM bastard shooting randomly....

She hesitated for a moment, but decided to leave her deputy behind, and started dragging the other injured soldier towards where the rest of her squad had rushed.

The night suddenly light up, and enormous explosions could be heard from the road. The barrage had begun.

Outskirts of Credence Airfield
122nd Parachute Company

Private Jimm Timmlu panted heavily. He peeked over his rifle scope, and it was a disgusting sight.

There were hundreds of still corpses, visible from the flames of burning enemy equipment. There were scattered desperate calls for help in a foreign but universal language. Tears started trickling down his cheeks.

Then he heard it again. The war cry of the enemy.

"Please" he shouted, "not again!"

He fed a fresh bullet into the chamber.

"Stop this madness."

Maximilianstaad Police Station, Karelins Island, Transsuneria

The situation had turned worse and worse for every passing minute. Officer Felip Borr picked up his last magazine and slammed it into his submachine gun. From nowhere reports of weapons fire had started coming in. Fort Maximilian, the old prison where old Grandmaster Soormann was kept, had gone silent, along with all the newly installed internet and TV. Now some unidentified terrorists were about to breach through the doors of his police station.

Borr stood up from behind the tipped over reception desk. He emptied the entire magazine in a single salvo through the door. Then he draw his pistol for last stand.

***

The small Transsunerian Coast Guard, which also operated as the Navy of the nation, consisted of only a few ships. The most potent of them were the old refitted Sedunnic Unng-class mine countermeasures vessels that recently had entered service. Three of them had been dispatched from the mainland to investigate what had happened to Fort Maximilian and why they had lost contact with the small naval station based there. Captain Benjamin Oldsberg had been designated squadron commander and was just about to start studying the rough copies of the fort drawings he had printed when one of his officers shouted.

"Chief! Sonar contact, bearing 40 degrees."

"Hydrophone, analyse contact bearing 40 degrees" ordered Oldsberg.

A man wearing large headphones answered immediately.

"Multiple submarines, unknown class."

Oldsbergs eyes widened. He looked terrified.

"Helm, bring us about! Fast! And Comm, signal to the squadron to withdraw to base at full speed" he ordered with an unsteady voice.

"Also! Hydrophone, deploy decoys, immediately!"

Operation THORN:

FiHami
Frost TANKER Grad Haka, International Waters South of FiHami

Commander Null grinned as he remembered how the Nameless and their newly freed allies cut a bloody swathe back to the Harbor and into the Grad Haka. The vessel was an unremarkable supply ship formerly belonging to the Frost Empire that was captured by the nameless before she could issue a distress call on the high seas.

From the Grad Haka, the nameless deployed 2 attack choppers to cover the ship as she headed out to sea frustrating the local authorities. After he finished reminiscing about the operation Null looked over at the several hundred liberated Antarchi prisoners assembled on the deck of the ship holding a glass of Valkyrian Ale.

Null picked up a microphone as he said, "Attention all crew and passengers of the Grad Haka, this is Commander Null speaking. First I want to congratulate you all on attaining your freedom from the Finixi and that there is Ale from several countries below in the cargo hold. So drink, eat, and be merry, because in the next week all of you will be dropped into the deepest depths of help fighting the tyrants of the Frost Empire. If you survive and the RIM emerge victorious know that your experiences will help you crush the Finixi who will be lulled into a sense of false superiority because of their victory. Good luck and Congrats on your well deserved freedom. Cheers!"

Transsuneria

Maximilianstaad Police Station, Karelins Island, Transsuneria

Captain "Eleven" grinned as he entered the police station, stepping over the bodies of the fallen, as the other Nameless commandos and their Transsunerian allies stormed the station entrance before his arrival. Eleven could hear gun fire as he walked towards the police chief's office noting that the Transsunerian police were brave to continue the fight after the doors were breached.

He had hoped to join Commander "Rei" assault the old prison with the other numbers and meet this Grandmaster but he knew his orders and followed them. Still, Eleven was curious to meet the man who could instill such loyalty in his men that they would die for him at a moment's notice.

Transsunerian Waters

"Admiral Saul, the enemy has noticed us, they appear to be deploying decoys."

"Don't let them escape. Launch torpedoes" barked the admiral

"Aye sir, launch torpedoes 1 through 4." repeated the executive officer

"Comms inform the fleet they are free to engage all targets. Don't allow a single ship to escape and compromise us!"

"Aye sir, informing the fleet to engage" repeated the Comms officer

The hunt was on.

CARTA-AGOT

Office of the High Commander of the Reizen Independence Military
Kinjishi, Reizen

Charles Buckwheat, Co-Consul of Carta-Agot

My friend, the Reizen Independence Army happily accepts your assistance in our struggle for freedom against tyranny. We were under the impression that the Agotians were coexisting with you as you modernized your country but it appears through this message that, that is not the case. I will be happy to dispatch the Nameless to assist in your cause in showing the Agotians the error of their ways. If the Military, the Ports and the rails into the foreign parasites are yours then I can entice a fair benefactor in arming your people to successfully fight your oppressors.

Regards,

Sakai Arkong
High Commander of the Reizen Independence Army
Republic of Reizen
