Two proposals have been introduced to amend Article IV of the Charter and Article 2 of the Regional Officers Act. The debate threads can be found here for the amendment to the Charter and here for the amendment to the Regional Officers Act. A motion and a second have been received to bring these amendments to a vote. As one of the amendments relates to a constitutional law, the voting period is five days and will require a three-fifths supermajority to pass. Legislators, Please be advised that the vote to amend Article IV of the Charter and Article 2 of the Regional Officers Act has passed. The final tally is 41 in favour, 4 in opposition, with 5 abstaining, for a total of 50 votes. The vote was passed with 91.1% voting in favour, exceeding the requirement for a three-fifths supermajority of those voting with the exclusion of abstentions.
