Deadly airborne virus defeated

Bicaan, the 35th planet to join the Star Empire, had been plagued by an illusive airborne virus for hundreds of years. The virus can mimic most of the body's vital cells and slowly take over its host and eventually harness its electrical nerve impulses. It took over 50 years of intense research to finally devise a cure, which is now being rapidly distributed on the planet before the virus can mutate. The Treecuu Council of Medicine claims that this was one of the last major diseases without a cure in the Star Empire.

... that the hottest inhabited Treecuu planet is called Maleeth? The average surface temperature is almost 800 degrees Fire It is home to an enormous serpent creature and is renowned for its spectacular sunsets.

Treecuu-Stoinian first contact: "a promise of peace and stability"

The Treecuu government has announced that there has been a first contact with a neighbouring nation, the Stoinian Star Kingdom. Information so far is limited, but we know there was a friendly meeting between the most high-ranking government member of the Stoinian government, King Andrei, and Governor Seect of Candact. The meeting went well and resulted in a peace agreement between the two states.

"We have assured each other that we have no claim on the other's territory and that we will work together to secure enduring security in our region" Governor Seect commented just after the first contact. "It is a promise of peace and stability."

This is a developing story.

Did you know...

... that the Treecuu writing system consists of 15 graphemes that can be rotated to represent the 30 phonemes that the insectoids and mammalians have in common? It was introduced along with the constructed Treecuu common language when the two original Treecuu species founded their nation together about 200 years ago.

New embassy district nearly finished

The recent first contact missions resulted in promises to establish formal diplomatic relations with several other star nations. A new embassy district close to the Treecuu Senate was soon announced, which is now all but finished.

"I believe we have built something truly elegant and purposeful. We are excited to welcome the esteemed foreign representatives to Ecteen" says Senior Manager Yoon.

The buildings will be finished in 16 standard days.

Did you know...

... that the Treecuu Star Empire never has been at war? Since its foundation following what's called the Great Calamities where the Treecuu emerged from several devastating interplanetary wars, diplomacy has been the primary weapon in finding ways to coexist.

Did you know...

... that the Treecuu Amphibians' favourite drink is... just water? That's right! Having evolved in an environment that was very sensitive to concentrations of certain minerals, they honed their taste buds to precisely name them in the dozens. And now for many Amphibians there's nothing better than water with a dash and complex mix of minerals.

Catuu Mandate has a new Governor

Former Special Emissary, amphibian Tiro, renowned for the first contact mission to the Venterran Federation, has been appointed governor of the Catuu mandate. She has pledged to uphold her predecessor's work, who peacefully passed away two weeks ago. Her priority will be in improving the infrastructure in the systemship-aspiring borderlands near the border with the BoA, she has said.
