I suggest:

2014 - 2015 - The Great Instability: civil wars are fought in Ryccia, Sporaltryus and Darkstraits, and subsequent brief but violent conflicts pit Ryccia against Sporaltryus. Foreign powers supports the various factions, sometime with a direct military involvement.

I suggest that it would be interesting if we established in first place the migration routes of the different peoples that have reached the main continents and landmasses of the South Pacific, according to the history of each country.

Secondly, we could start to take decissions of the common relations (invasions, unions, trade agreements, social/economical/scientific developments...) that will be settled among the nations that are ruling the territories affected by the Common Canon History.

And finally, I also suggest to do a list of those nations that are interested in take part of the history and when (what era, century, year...) they decide to participate in it, in order to allow then to affect and be affected by the changes that would take place in the The South Pacific.

It would be really neat for multiple reasons to align the migration routes. If we were to do that, though, there will be limitations for new players joining, like what history they can have, or specific ethnicities available to them. Maybe it would be worth doing still?

Of course.

I think that it would be noted that every change in the history of any little piece of earth, every new event and even every new plot reclamation will became a limitation for each player that does not take part in any of them.

With this idea in mind, we could say that it is almost impossible to create a canon history for the South Pacific without affecting the game of other players.

So, we can only discuss about the history of the South Pacific without pretending anymore...or we can deal with the limitations that we have talked about yet, and work together in order to establish a canon history where everyone that want to participate, could apport its different ideas about the general plot.

We can open an extensive period of time (in the real world, that could be of 12 months, for example) for allowing to make changes, migrations, wars, treaties, ...even scientific inventions and social advancements, that would take place in each era, century or year. We can also establish the different developments of every participating nation according to the real-world country that each in-game state are trying to reflect in the South Pacific historic roleplay.

It will be difficult, long and problematic, but in my personal opinion, all that work could be worthy for the players.

I like the idea of working on common historical events between nations on a voluntarily basis (i.e. the Peo-Sedunnic war).

I don't like instead the idea of imposing them on current and future players. In the first case, it would involve major retcons with the attached quarrels, especially in light to the fact that, as shown, it's an intricated patchwork of ethnicities and histories. In the second it would be discouraging, and bring further quarrels.

Hate to be a downer, but take a look at the amount of discussion simple facts as population and GDP have caused.

Well, still we have two options:
1) We can just record the different events that would happened almost ramdomly among isolated groups of nations.

2) We could try to do a list with every nation that voluntarily wants to join into an Historical Canon Roleplay, and let them decide since what time, era or century they would like to start playing.
