[FAILED] Private voting
#21

If the concern is that the Election Commissioner might rig an election by inventing or suppressing ballots, that says more about us than it does about the merits of private voting.

Is there reason not to?

I feel confident in our 17 years of fairly conducted elections. Our democratic record speaks for itself.

Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't - we're giving a couper an easy tool to make their coup look legitimate.

Just because it can happen is no reason to act as if it will. Saying that all-private voting will lead to rigged elections is simply misleading because it presents it as a given, rather than as a risk to be addressed.

No no no no, we all trust your job, we are just saying if secret ballots happen this can happen and we are not doubting you work.

No one is saying all (if someone said I will sue that person Happywide), we are saying in some it is possible and bribing is a possibility in this case so its better for sake prevention we make many people a part of election commission.

Agreed. I think I'm with Kris in that its the tone/phrasing of some of the comment rather than the actual concern.

Again, though, the way to do this would be for there to be at least two ECs so there's a check.

No-one has said all-private voting will lead to rigged elections, I asked a question, I did not make a statement.
