Recall: Minister of Foreign Affairs
#61

TNI indicated in its statement that Glen's attacks were among the reasons the treaty was terminated. That would be hard evidence that his rhetoric is having a detrimental impact on TSP's foreign affairs.

Glen, I'm not disputing or ignoring your policy claims. I acknowledge that in terms of policy, you have been pursuing an independent policy. The disconnect is between your policy and your conduct. While you may be trying to advance an independent foreign policy, your conduct as Minister is undermining that policy. You may want closer ties to non-defender regions as a matter of policy, but your conduct is precluding that as a possibility. This has resulted in the termination of two treaties with imperialist regions, permafrost cast over alliances with existing independent allies, and the demolition of any bridge to future independent and imperialist allies.

I'm not saying it doesn't matter that you want to pursue independent policy. But it also matters that your conduct is making that impossible, and you refuse to modify your conduct. Wanting policy isn't good enough when your own behavior is making achievement of that policy virtually impossible.

Cormac you have no evidence all you have is a few words he said a long time back. You can't say he's a bad MOFA as he has only had the job for about a mouth. There is no good reason for him to be dismissed as MOFA you really do seem desperate. It now looks like your making things up as you alone.

This term is still young, but you are incorrect to say that Glen is new to the role. He has been Foreign Minister for over seven months.

Your really not one to talk when it comes to past mistakes Cormac. Your track record isn't exactly squeaky clean either.

#65

First, do I even know you?

Second, I wasn't talking about past mistakes. Unless you consider this week to be "past mistakes." I'm not saying people don't make mistakes, and I'm certainly not saying I haven't made them, but Glen has made a point to assure us that he has no intention of at all modifying his behavior. These aren't mistakes, in his view.
#66

No, you do not know me. In fact, no one knows me here but that does not mean I'm ignorant to the happenings in NationStates. Suffice to say, I know plenty of you.

That whole TNI thing with GR was a circus and you know it. They were looking for any reason to get rid of TSP since before the treaty with TRR and if you want to talk about modifying behavior perhaps you should start with yourself before you go all out on someone else.

This whole thing was blown out of proportion the moment you came over here and started whining about something so irrelevant and minuscule. Everyone is entitled to their opinion regardless of whether or not it suits you. So suck it up and move on.

The recall will begin at the end of today.

What I don't get, then, is why this entire group in NS Gameplay continually accuse me of doing just the opposite. If you know that I'm pursuing an independent foreign policy, then why make comments like this?
Quote: For every new treaty that TSP is ratifying, another region is either cancelling a treaty or signaling privately or publicly that they will not enter into a treaty with TSP because of Glen and the extremism he's advocating from his platform as MoFA here. I've heard murmurs that there are current treaty allies of TSP that are considering treaty cancellation because of the path that Glen has been charting for TSP's foreign affairs.

That's not admonishing my "conduct." That's calling into question my very platform as Minister of Foreign Affairs. This idea that my "conduct" is the sole reason why some Independent and imperialist regions don't want to "associate" with TSP is honestly just weak. It's as if I'm the only person ever in this game to say a negative thing about anybody. I know that people shit talk me all the time. Does that mean I use my position of power in TSP to distance this region away from others because I don't like how another player talks? No. That's an unprofessional way to go about the game.

And let's not even pretend that if I put myself under a gag order any of these people would start liking me. That will not happen. The mere fact that I'm not a raider or an imperialist or a raider-Independent is enough for these people to not want to "associate" with TSP. It has nothing to do with my participation in the NS Gameplay forum, because my "conduct" is not any different from the vast majority of what happens there.

You can't be serious you believe this fool ? Cormac is trying to remove a member of government for making a mistake. He has very little proof.

Legally speaking, whenever someone proposes at recall, there has to be a vote after three days of debate. It isn't up to the Chair of the Assembly to decide whether or not to hold a vote, or how legitimate the arguments are.
