Registration for the Pacifican Summer Youth Games of the I Olympiad is due to close tommorow at 2200hrs UTC+8.

Regarding the roleplay and scoring systems used in the Youth Olympiad, this is my proposed planned system so far.

The scoring system shall be determined with a 20-sided dice in the D&D format.
Scores will be determined with points respective to the sport. Medals will be awarded accordingly after the final round in the same tournament and location.

Two scores will be provided at the end of every match, the dice score and the actual score, as the actual score is adapted to the dice score where accordingly. The dice score have only one original value.

Anything above the value of 10 will register as victory to the 1st player (top of the bracket), under to the 2nd player (bottom of the bracket). A value equivalent to 10 will be a draw and will be rerolled.  When there are such bonuses and maluses, there will not be one but two dice scores will be shown where necessary, before bonuses and maluses and after bonuses and maluses. The latter will be the reference for the actual score while the former will represent the original value and possibly the removal or reset of such bonuses and maluses.

Only the actual score is canon.

There will be no immediate bonus as all participants are new to the Youth Olympiad and to keep things fair to all. However, there will be an immediate -2 malus from the beginning of the games for the teams representing the host country Federal Republic of Besern  as quoted from @GI-Land referring to the same malus from the 2020 FWC for the Gianlucian team,
Quote:On the one hand, they are the home team, but there's also a lot of pressure on them and probably everyone wants to beat their arses.

The progressive maluses and bonuses are as follows.
  • Streak multiplier: If your team lost in the previous game, it will get a malus. If your team won in the previous game, it will get a bonus.
If a streak is broken by contradicting outcomes, the multiplier is reset back to (if your team got a bonus and lost) a -1 multiplier or (if your team got a malus and won) a 0 multiplier. If there is a outcome that results in a draw, the tied teams will immediately lose their streak and have their multiplier reset to 0 regardless. The maximum multiplier values are +5 for bonuses and -5 for maluses. The minimum multiplier value is 0. These multiplier values will add to the dice score, tipping the scale in your or the other team's favour.

Blank space clause: If there are blank spaces in values after the multiplier, the blank space will be filled by the original prevailing party regardless.
Maximum clause: If a team reaches the maximum multiplier, their multiplier will reset to 0 once the outcome for their current match is determined.
Draw clause: Another roll will happen shall a 10 value occur. All bonuses and maluses will not count except for immediate bonuses and maluses.

i.e. Holy Free and Ikoania play a match together. The original dice score is 12 in Holy Free's favour. However, Holy Free has a -3 malus. The score is adjusted to 9 in Ikoania's favour, securing an Ikoanian victory. However, as Holy Free won before the adjustment, their multiplier is reset to 0.

i.e. Sedunn and Transsuneria play a match together. The original dice score is 7 in Transsuneria's favour. However, Sedunn has a +2 bonus while Transsuneria has a -3 malus. The intended score adjustment is 9-10, either in a draw or Transsunerian favour, but since there is the blank-space rule, the score is adjusted to 9 in Transsuneria's favour still due to the blank-space rule, securing a Transsunerian victory. Both Transsuneria and Sedunn have their multipliers reset, with Sedunn incurring a -1 malus while Transsuneria resetting to a 0 multiplier.

i.e. Arnchow and Huawan play a match together. The original dice score is 14 in Arnchow's favour. Both parties have 0 multipliers. Arnchow gains a +1 bonus while Huawan incurs a -1 malus.

This is what is on my mind so far, what do you think?

To all roleplayers,

Regarding the roleplay and scoring systems used in the Youth Olympiad, and after shamelessly copying-and-pasting my previous posts, this shall be the scoring and roleplay systems used in this roleplay.

The tournament will be played in the round-robin tournament system. All nations will play each other once.
The scoring system shall be determined with a dice ranging from 0-20 in the D&D format.

Streak multiplier: If your team lost in the previous game, it will get a malus.

Multipliers for each nation apply to each specific sport only. Multipliers from a sport may not be used in another sport.

The scoreboard and register, including tournament brackets will be progressively updated in this spreadsheet.

I will update this if there are any changes. Feel free to submit your feedback in this thread.
Please denote that is thread will continue to be used for events like bidding for the next Youth Olympiad, among other things.
The Youth Olympiad will start within the first week of June with the opening ceremony.

Good luck to all!
