The Atrium, Vorauhalden Centre

Herbert entered the atrium. He wandered around, looking for whoever he is meeting, eventually making his way into the e-directory kiosk.

After searching for the 'coffeehouse' in the kiosk, it directed him to one of them a level 2 shop named 'Aromatica', a chain of coffeehouses exclusive to only the state of Haoene-Zersbach. He remembered that his colleague told him to 'wait at the level 2 coffeehouse', yet only until now has he been left in confusion. He took the escalator up to level 2 and crossed the bridge towards the shop.

"What deceit, as if he couldn't make it obvious.", he thought.

He scanned his surroundings, trying to look for the table. He then saw a hand waving at him.

"Ah, the head representative, come, have a seat!"

Bruna and Conradine were seated at the table. Shortly, Rafael took his seat, passing him.

Herbert took a seat.

"A very good morning to all of you, may we please be briefed about the Zersbach 2021 primary venue please, to you, representative of the national Sportolympiadrat?"

"Yes, the office at Aldstadtwald has informed us and Hebert's authority that the stadium here integrated at this Vorauhalden Centre will be the location for football, rugby sevens, futsal, and the opening and closing ceremonies. The gym here will be used for the shooting, taekwondo, judo and karate."

"Yes, and we plan to close the stadium temporarily for a spit and polish, deck it out in Zersbach and youth olympic colours."

"We also plan to issue funpacks for everyone in the city of Zersbach for that youth athlete hype, #teamberscheland hype, y'know?"

"Very well. I shall inform the city council. I'll get back to the Zersbach 2021 office soon. We have five months anyway if anything goes wrong. Speaking of which, mind sitting down, have a shot of coffee on me before splitting?"

"Yes, very well. Black, no sugar. "

"A latte, thanks."

"No thanks. Sorry."

Rafael reaches to the counter and orders two blacks and a latte. He uses cash.

"To our youth athletes."

They 'clink' their ceramic mugs.

Members of the Izaakian youth Olympiad team have started an acclimatisation training camp in Surfers paradise in the run up to the competition in Besern. The location was chosen due to the weather in Surfers Paradise which is more similar to the weather of Besern, to prevent Izaakian athletes being unprepared and unacclimatised for warm temperatures.

Stefan Stark, Representative of the Sportrat Metropolstaat Cenche and Brient representative of the Zersbach 2021 Office

*ring ring*

Hebert is at the desk. He was assigned to the office a few days after meeting with the mayor. Hebert picks up the phone.

"Zersbach 2021 office, anything I can help?"

"Sportrat Berscheland here. We have a problem."

"Continue, this is Hebert, sorry for not introducing earlier, who are you?"

"Stefan Stark, representative of the Sportrat Metropolstaat Cenche. This is regarding venues."

"I beg your pardon?"

"Vorauhalden Centre is too small for what we require. It only has 5,000 seating capacity. It's enough for football, rugby sevens and futsal, but not enough for the opening and closing ceremonies, if you still want to use it."

"How much do we require for the latter two?"

"We require at least numbers in the five digits. An average minimum would be 15,000, really."

"We do have the Zersbach-Aubrucken Stadium, which would house 42,358 spectators, to my knowledge."

"Good, I'll talk to you later. Notify me personally. Contact me at stefanstark@brient.sportsrat.org.be. Good luck."

OPENING VOICEOVER (BBS):

OPENING CEREMONY
SUMMER YOUTH GAMES OF THE I OLYMPIAD (2021)
ZERSBACH, HAOENE-ZERSBACH, BESERN

THEME: HARMONY IN COLOURS

SEGMENT 1: 'COUNTDOWN':

The stadium fades to black. A few seconds later, the court is slightly lit by what seems to be a projector and some spotlights. A few seconds after, the projector starts to radiate words on the court. Translations of the word 'welcome' in various languages can be found corresponding with the soft voices narrating these words in native accents.

The soft voices then shuffled into silence as the lights began to fizz out.

The projector then lit up a countdown sequence in the middle of the stadium. The timer was set to 00:10:00.

Then, a video clip was shown on the boards in and around the stadium of various youth, adolescents and young adults, from all 18 states, performing stunts and showcasing monuments until into the gradual focus into the Haoene-Zersbach state.

At the near end of the clip, performers from all 19 states, some carrying their origin flags started to run into the stadium court. The entrance order was Ostrovia, Haoenewald, Haoene-Zersbach, Rungenbouen, Phallehaven, Antillstein, Falstburg-Budicastein, Centralen Berscheland, Sudphalletal, Aurothia, Sudbismartia, Ostfamella, Robinsonwanel, Treisag, Cenche, Nordfhrient, Sarrsland, Tholisia-Ostselvatia, and Tholisia-Obravia respectively.

The countdown was hidden as a map of Besern is shown in the center. Each performer ran to their state.
They then shown their local folk songs, state by state, by singing at least a part of a verse.
They dispersed as the projector faded. The countdown was then reenabled. The timer states 1 minute.

They rallied around the court, creating a song that incorporated all these elements, avoiding the center of the court where the countdown was located, dancing and performing to various songs. The end of the song triggered 19 fireworks displays in sequence in the stadium, each in the colours of each state, with the last being the colours of the Besernian flag.

SEGMENT 2: 'DIVERSITY':

Once the countdown ended, the performers left the court as fireworks are set off. At the center of the court, three spotlights were turned on, shining on three young performers, respectively representing the Haoene, Bismartian and Tholisian people, the three traditional regions of Besern.

With various instruments and other cultural actions relevant appearing, this segment potrays the culture of the 'home'. A song flooded the atmosphere that was sung by one of the female performers. Then, cultures of different countries and their respective performers appear one by one by the spotlight and join the chorus. They would join in with their traditional tunes, thereby creating a potrayal of the culture of the 'world'. A bright tone turns into a sunsetting tone as the blue ambient lights turn orange.

The song pauses near the end as the stadium fades dark. A performer appears in the center of the stadium as a flower sculpture shaped like an opening flower is lifted up by wire as she released it. She sings a few lines of the last verse before the rest of the performers finish the song progressively as they stood still. 21 rock cannon that was cast outside in the open areas of the stadium was fired as the drone cameras focused in on the action. They felt similar to a 21-gun salute.

The lights faded to black as the song ended, giving time for some of the performers to assemble for the next segment and some of the performers to leave the court.

ANNEX A: DAR BERSCHES BODE:

"Frauen und herren, dar flagge if dar Fedinschrepublik Berscheland und dar Haoene-Zersbach Fedinschstaat ."
"Ladies and gentlemen, the flags of the Federal Republic of Besern and the state of Haoene-Zersbach."

Both flags was carried along the court to the flagpole as the lights in the stadium turned red, white, yellow and indigo.
The flag entered the court as the voiceover featured those who were carrying the flag.

They then handed over the flags to the Besernian Military Police, who carried the flags to the flagpoles.

The flags were then clinged onto the hoist of the flagpoles.

"Frauen und herren, bit stand."
"Ladies and gentlemen, please rise."

"Frauen und herren, dar nationalhymne if dar Fedinschrepublik Berscheland."
"Ladies and gentlemen, the national anthem of the Federal Republic of Besern."

The entire stadium becomes silent.

The camera faces towards the raised Besernian flag, along with the raised Haoene-Zersbach flag as they start waving in the air. They are followed by fireworks.

"Frauen und herren, ihr kon jest ihr setz."
"Ladies and gentlemen, you may now take your seat."

SEGMENT 3: 'AMBIENCE':

The stadium fades to black as small cauldrons with their mechanisms and some with sparker-like torches is wheeled in and the center of the court starts to flood. These cauldrons are in a 7-star position clockwise, with white being first followed by yellow. The white cauldron faces the Olympiad cauldron. An actress stands in the middle as the spotlight shines on her. The water mechanism rains on her as she is caught without an umbrella or a raincoat. The echo of her walking in the water is spread across the stadium. A sparker at the left of the court then sets alight, emitting a white flame. She then starts to recite the first few stanzas in a song as she walks to the flame. She falls silent. She takes a torch and lights it with suspense. She walks towards the center and trips, unleashing a white wave on the water. She gets up, leaving the torch behind and continues to walk to the center, albeit not singing anything. The white wave disperses and forms a major chalky, fuzzy patch in the water. The spotlight leaves her as she disappears, walking to outside the center.

A yellow spotlight then is shone on the yellow cauldron as its mechanism shoots yellow flames. An athlete from the Besernian team then runs with a small yellow spotlight on him, a small stone bowl in hand and catches a flame. He throws the bowl behind him in an overhead move, forming a yellow wave. The music then starts instrumentally. The athlete fades from view as the green cauldron ignites and spews out some green 'glowing liquid' into the water. A few swimmers then are exposed as their shadow casts on the green wave that is made. The indigo cauldron is then ignited as an fencing athlete in a blue spotlight strikes the sparkler. The orange cauldron is lit as 2 athletes in orange spotlight pass the volleyball around each other around the cauldron until one throws the volleyball into the cauldron, igniting it and unleashing an orange wave. The light blue cauldron is lit as a martial arts athlete breaks a piece of wood in front of the cauldron as he is shone onto by a light blue spotlight. The broken wood and his foot touches the cauldron, lighting the light blue cauldron and unleashing a light blue wave. The red cauldron is lit as a climbing athlete carrying a small torch with a red flame climbs a small rock wall and throws the torch in the cauldron, unleashing a red wave.

The waves come together and merge as one, as the choir begins to accompany the song which was instrumental when it started.
The harmonizing of these waves kickstart a growing fountain in the center of the court, unleashing the light of the cauldrons to above the water. The athletes who were part of the cauldrons' lighting moved towards the center, where the fountain is. They raised their torches that they were carrying, each carrying the flame of each of the cauldron's colour in the sequence of the Olympiad symbol. The water jet and torches summons a drone display located around the stadium, forming a cloud on top of the stadium. The display shows each athlete growing out of the fountain 'expanding' into the sky, progressively with each few minutes. The end result being the logo of the Zersbach Youth Olympiad.

A firework display is unleashed around Zersbach and inside the stadium in the colours of the Youth Olympiad. The water in the center of the court starts to drain. The stadium fades to black as the torches and cauldrons are snuffed and the athletes were given time to leave the court. These equipment necessary for the segment to function have also been removed at that time.

SEGMENT 4: 'ADRENALINE':

The stadium is filled with silence as the equipment necessary is placed in the court in the dark. 3 blocks were in shot.

WIP: Summarized, segment to feature pictograms and displays of all sports in the Youth Olympiad.

SEGMENT 5: 'PARADE OF NATIONS':

and in respect for the fundamental principles of Olympism."

SEGMENT 6: LIGHTING THE TORCH

From the torch relay starting from Proktethia, garning the holy flame of old Olympia, to touring Pacifica, the relay ends here in Zersbach.

From the gates of the Ausbrucken stadium is Tederich Winkler, team captain of the Basketball group of the school Zweitedukatieschule Zersbachstadt Sudkohlsfurt (2ES Sudkohlsfurt (Zersbachstadt)), which won first place national finals in the secondary level basketball competitions of the Besernian National School Games of 2020.

He runs into the stadium court and climbs the stairs.

He then waves at the audience and lights the bottom of the cauldron.

The cauldron lights and rises.

[OOC: The torch is similar to this.]

With the holy flame of from Proktethia has now arrived in Zersbach, blessing the youth olympiad games, thus shall begin a new generation of sporting events.

"Frauen und herren, bit blei im ihr setz und lass dar athlet and official versallen eine. Dar marschal werde liete ihr kurs fur versallen im zu dar plaza. Gut nacht. "
"Ladies and gentlemen, please stay in your seats and let the athletes and officials leave first. The marshals will guide you shortly for exit into the plaza. Good night."

CLOSING VOICEOVER (BBS):
"As the Youth Olympiad flame burns, radiating the sacred energy originating from ancient Proktethia, so does the youth games of the I Olympiad start and what spirit it brings. This has been Liselotte Messer, Austral transcriptor for Ilsa Wendell, from the International Broadcasting Centre, sincere thanks to the Olympiad Broadcasting Service, and on behalf of my colleagues at Nordhaoene Rundfunk, have a very peaceful night."
