Hello! This has been brought to vote here.

I’ve been away for most of the time that this bill has been debated but I’m opposed for more or less the same reasons that Nakari is. I don’t think this is necessary or helpful and in fact I think it makes it look like we take ourselves far too seriously. I don’t want that.

'Far too seriously' is a point of contention and very much debatable. What does this amendment change? Four very minor things. It changes trainee to cadet, soldier to sailor, general to admiral, and general corps to admiralty. We are not reinventing the wheel. We are giving effect to the nautical theme long embraced by the region. If anything, I would contend that having land armies is a far more serious and questionable proposition on the small islands of the South Pacific, separated by water ... than the concept of having boats and a navy is.
I'm opposed to this amendment The current names in place are fine there is no reason to change them and cause confusion.

I seriously don't understand how people would not be able to learn quickly the hierarchy of Cadet → Sailor → Officer → Commander or my preference that has Captain instead of Officer. Same. It's really not that hard. I honestly don't care too much one way or the other, but the new names are more unique and I think more fun. So why not?? I'm honestly surprised there's so many opposed to this one.
