Trump Presidency
#81

Ah yes, At-Taubah. Underlining that do not be allies at those that wrong you and will continue to wrong you, be instead with those that respect you.

No I do, underlined by Surah Al-Fussilat ayat 34.

"And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend."
"毎日の小さな努力の積み重ねが歴史を作っていくんだよ。"

Put a little effort everyday and it will stack up and create a foundation for you.

[align=justify]You shouldn't have to apologize. When the KKK kills black people, people aren't asking for an apology from white people.
That's because they already believe white propel are all bad and they get nothing from speaking about it over and over

I was just saying. For example, people shouldn't tell Germans to apologize for the actions of their ancestors; the same goes for Italians and Japanese. I'm half-Filipino and I'm sure I have Spanish blood in my veins, but I don't expect Spaniards to apologize for the actions that their ancestors committed during their occupation of the Philippines. That was the message that I was trying to get across.

Well shouldn't the same thing apply for Australian Aboriginals or Native Americans? They still complain about everything (sorry if everyone thinks I've suddenly gone racist, if you read my posts, I haven't)

OW.

Now that that's finished, let's go through a section of the One Nation website

Call for an inquiry or Royal Commission to determine if Islam is a religion or political ideology
What?
Stop further Muslim Immigration and the intake of Muslim refugees until we can assure the safety of Australians.
Pretty Vague. Would fail NS world assembly standards, let alone national law. Actually, this is what's happening in the US... so...
Ban the Burqa and Niqab in public places
Is a ban necessary? I must admit, it is easier to feel safe without them, but a total ban is ridiculous.
Driver’s licence cannot be obtained without showing the full face and having photo ID on driver’s licence
Fair enough.
Surveillance cameras to be installed in all Mosques and schools. Mosques to be open to the public during all opening hours
Only if churches, synagogues, temples etc have them too.
No more mosques to be built until the inquiry is held
No.
Oppose the introduction of Sharia Law
I agree with this. Australian law is secular.
Investigate welfare payments paid to Muslims who may be in multiple marriages, having multiple children
Again, fair enough.
Ban Halal certification. Halal certified food not to be provided in prisons or the armed services. Companies may comply for export but no monies must be paid
Again, a ban isn't necessary. Also, this largely is nonsense. Halal is banned, makes sense, but then it can't be provided? Well, it's banned, what do you expect?
Call for a referendum to change Section 116 of the Australian Constitution
Keeps government secular, preserves freedom of religion. What is wrong with that?
Muslims will not be allowed to be sworn into Parliament under the Qur’an
Why should it matter? Australia is a secular country.
Female genital mutilation to carry lengthy jail term
Fair enough.

So, some fairly reasonable policies, some absolute racist garbage. All things considered, Turnbull isn't that bad.
I'd just like to remind you all that we are still the best state, and most of us are smart (DST isn't here yet)
I kinda agree with the Islam against democracy thing, every Muslim I've met (and there's been a lot) has been in some way against democracy. One thought a dictatorship would be best for everyone and actively opposes Christianity.

I know not much about Australia, but I think, I remember some documentary, where this was shown.
If that would apply, I could understand, why they still complain.
Nevertheless, I didn't want to insult anyone and I would also agree with Ausstan, that one should learn and remember of the bad things, the ancestors have done.

Ok, doesn't ahve something to do with Trump, but it fits in here anyway somehow, because it was one topic through all the pages already published:

German secret services fortunately found out, that we don't have Russian intervention on our opinions here in Germany (on a illegal/semi-illegal way like with Social-Bots, that spread Fake-News etc.). They still say however that this is not an all-clear signal. One has still to pay attention, what information s*he gets etc. etc., but in general that should be normal on the Internet.
It SHOULD.....

Yes they are treated poorly. I understand that, I live here. (Not trying to say you are clueless or anything, but, hey, I live here, I read this stuff in the news everyday.) But, there are no police shootings like in america with the african-americans. The ones living in the city receive the exact same oppurtunities as the "whites". Those living in the country often have poorer living conditions, but 1. They choose to live out there, 2. They live in the god damn desert. No matter what colour you are, if you live in the middle of a desert continent, you won't get all of the perks of city life.

Does this sound ignorant to you? Well, I'm sorry, but I have this argument with almost everyone I know and it gets annoying when people of any colour tries to scum off hard-working people's taxes. I don't think I'm better because I live in the city, or because I'm white. I don't think I'm better at all. But they make a conscious choice to live out in the desert unemployed. If all of the money they get is from centrelink (government handouts), well, too bad. If I chose to live in the desert unemployed, people wouldn't care if I had no money.

As you can tell, I have fairly strong views on this topic.

What your response fails to take into account is unconscious or societal biases. For example, women in the UK have the same legal rights as men, for the most part, but this does not mean that they are treated equally. Society, consciously or unconsciously, still had a bias towards men and until people are able to understand and counteract them in themselves and the institutions they act within, it will remain the case. The same is true for minorities world-wide and I'd be very surprised if it wasn't also the case in Australia.

Until you've lived in someone else's shoes you cannot assume that their complaints are not legitimate.
