Storytime:

Capital Punishment is legal and has been used quite occasionally in the Peocracy, crimes punishable by death including: smuggling arms; counterfeiting currency; raising funds by means of fraud; arranging for or forcing another person to engage in prostitution; obstructing a police officer or a person on duty from performing his duties; fabricating rumors to mislead others during wartime; murder; drug trafficking; embezzlement; homicide; statutory rape; pedophilia, arson; treason and so forth. There are over 50 capital offenses and they are usually lethally injected, set to firing squad, and put to a chamber.

However, with roots from islam, which allows capital punishment but favors forgiveness, together with peace, is a predominant Qur'anic theme. Muslims believe that capital punishment is a most severe sentence but one that may be commanded by a court for crimes of suitable severity.

Moreover, Taoist roots had also influenced the mindset, the modern state is perfectly capable of keeping dangerous persons locked up under humane but secure conditions until the end of their natural lives. As The Peony and Pirate Queen, Shao Yan,  had said:

"Violence, even well intentioned, always rebounds on itself. Who are we to decide death other than nature itself?"

With this in mind, compromise exist. Capital Punishment is only given if the person has no compassion, and basically, when asked if they would do it again, they say yes. Otherwise, cases tend to exist in which the person was not given the penalty, rather, they are sentenced to imprisonment for life, exile, and sometimes manual labor.

The Peony and the Royal Council is looking to reduce the amount of punishments from 50 to a mere 20. However, this is still contested by the people.

In Troenia, capital punishment is only allowed to be carried out in wartime, or in the trial process afterwards. A suspect may be sentenced to death by a civilian court, a court-martial or by a drumhead court martial. The drumhead court martial is unique in this case, as there are only two possible outcomes. The person is either found innocent or found guilty, where the only punishment is execution, which is carried out at dawn the next day.
A drumhead court martial is an extraordinary form of court martial, carried out in the field ad hoc, when there is not time or possibility to arrange a proper CM. Sufficient to say, the charges against the suspect must therefore be very serious, like serious negligence of one's duties, aiding the enemy in such a way that one's own troops are put at risk, desertion during an active firefight or on the move to one et cetera.
The court is led by an officer with the rank of major or higher, five officers, two NCO's and three privates). The role as defence lawyer is usually given to an ensign. Officers are given the choice to commit suicide instead of standing trial. The execution is carried out by firing squad, followed by a single bullet to the head by the squad leader from close range

Capital punishment is legal however the Supreme Court has urged lower courts not to use it. It has not been used in over 5 years.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

Illegal. In Sedunn, death as punishment for crimes was abolished 1799.

There is however a special clause in the Warfare Regulations that allows execution of "personnel within the military or crucial to its operation" that are "deemed likely beyond any doubt to willingly and purposefully disclose sensitive information to the enemy, that will severely threaten lives in, and the continuous operation of, a unit of at least the size of a brigade or the equivalent". The decision can only be made by a captain or higher, directly in command of affected unit(s), under circumstances that do not allow safe containment of said personnel. There is no report of this right ever being exercised.

In Rebeltopia, capital punishment is legal. Though, it is rarely used. Judges have the power to sentence those found guilty of any crime that they deem heinous.

Execution is illegal except for this single crime: Treason of the Highest Order (includes being a leader of coup attempts, being a leader of a rebellion/revolution/revolt/insurgency/etc., or being a leader or the sole actor of an assassination of a high official. Leaders include the masterminds not present in the action and the leaders in the event proper).

Yes they are, and used in many cases. Until approximately 20 years ago, the beginning of the reign of King Victor VIII the Victorious, the death penalty was used for any "crime seen to be bad" (An actual quote from the former constitution) by the King. He changed these rule to account for only those that would cause death, grievous bodily harm and/or irreversible psychological damage, but the vagueness of these laws were often used by prosecution lawyers to justify execution of burglars, protesters, and, in one unusual case, a group of mimes.

Later in his reign, Victor, understanding the dangers of these laws, changed them to prevent anymore loopholes, at least, as much as he could. He had removed a lot of the monarchy powers during his reign. Preventing his ablity

His successor and son, John XIII, abolished the monarchy, not believing anyone should hold that much power, and became the founder of the FR Ausstan, but, before this decision, he created the Death Penalty Act, which standardised the use of the executions. The Transitional Ausstani Government, consisting of the former government, decided which rules would be kept from the monarchy, during the transition, and which would be changed. They voted unanimously to keep the Death Penalty Act,

Hence, the death penalty is used for crimes which would usually be seen as deserving of execution, including multiple murders, treason, multiple rapes, murder of a high ranking government official, defence force employee or police employee, and, finally, the choosing of mime as a profession.

Capital punishment isn't compatible with the GI-Landian constitution and so it is illegal.
Although the last use of the capital punishment was back in 1949, this kind of punishment wasn't abolished until the 1st June 1999, the birth of King Gianluca IV.
