Unified applications: let's try this again
#21

Also: We are tentatively scheduling the forum to go down for maintenance around the same time as the Cabinet meeting on 9 July.

To clarify, are we not, then going with the check boxes for each ministry and open text areas for applicants to list/describe their area of focus? Because theoretically current jobs should not be in the form, they should be in the application thread OP.
#22

Yeah, the most current information would be in the thread OP.

So wait, did we decide to go with checkboxes for general ministry + text to describe areas of interest? I'm confused.

Because I'm open to that.

EDIT: reading back I can now see that was the general idea. I've messaged Roavin to clear it up. Going to bed now but I'll sort this all tomorrow.

It looks like Roavin did some playing with the form. Let me know what you all think.

Looks good, but the page is still entitled "Roavin's test form". We might wanna change that to the unified applications portal or something to that effect.

I expect changing that won't be much of an issue. Good to point out though.

I support this version of the application form, my only concern remains that the legislator component coupled with the ministry component could potentially cause issues down the road. Does LegCom need to approve this?

If this will not be an inhibitor or otherwise delay us further, then no issue.

We should begin thinking about drafting an OP for the thread this will attach to either way.
#27

I'll ping LegComm about it just to make sure they as a whole and not just me sign off on doing it like this.

EDIT: and yes, forum OP is the next step.

I would like to solicit the Cabinet's collaborative aid for the OP. In particular, I need to know what sub-departments you have, so that people can use this information in their application. So please respond with your sub-department names and a short tooltip about what you do there.. If you have a ministry overview thread of dispatch, please post this link as well so it can do in the [learn more] headers under the logos.

What we ultimately want is some sort of shorthand so that applicants can see "Oh yes, Dispatch Team, they work on dispatches" and have a better idea of what to write in their application, yet retain the option to click the links to ministry pages and look up more information if it's desired.

My idea for a draft OP will look something like this, and it is my best attempt to try to copeTM with the rather unconventional way tables are formatted on this forum.

Other than hierarchy stuff, really just these two:

RP Planning: Coordinate with roleplay leaders and other staff members to develop and enhance the roleplay experience in the South Pacific.

Let me know if anything else is needed or if that doesn't suffice.
