Recall: Chair of the Assembly |
TEPers came into our channel in troves and egged Unibot on, knowing full well that his dislike for them would cause an outburst... and it's our foreign policy bridges we need to be worried about burning.
Come on Tsu. This is all just a bunch of BS.
Can we not just agree that both sides are at fault? Yes, TEP started the fire, and yes, Unibot through fuel into the fire. It happens. Everyone has flaws, and most may not be willing to admit that, but there is no reason to take this to the extreme. Let's just leave it at that.
If I recall the logs, Uni is the one who start hammering on about Todd before other people joined the channel.
It's all outside the arena here. It really doesn't matter who started what. Unibot did NOTHING here or in the game.
Wait, I'm sorry, I proposed this recall for selfish reasons, Sandaoguo? Do explain; I want to know what these selfish reasons are.

In real life if someone makes a mistake they don't just get fired or threatened to be fired so I don't see why we should do it here. Uni has been doing his job fine as Sandaoguo said if you don't like him don't vote for him it's as simple as that. No don't always I will give you two examples. 1. A British MP on the US independence day sent a tweet that showed the White House burning down as the British burned the White House down in the wars of independence. Does he still have his job ? Yes. 2. A Scottish local politician in Glasgow this year waved the Israeli flag over Glasgow's town hall at the time when Israel was invading Gaza. Does he still have his job ? Yes. There is no reason to recall him unless anyone does anything like treason then yes they should be recall. But for little things like this it's just stupid, you get the vote you vote for who you like and you get who you get that's democracy. Europeian Ambassador to The South Pacific

We elected in Unibot and that's that. Has he done something a bit dumb yes but has he do something that has caused great harm to TSP ? No. As I said before we get who we get and you just have to deal with it, here in TSP we get completely free and fair elections why recall someone for saying something a bit dumb.
If you don't want Unibot as Chair of the Assembly then don't vote for him if he runs again. Unibot was elected in and even if you don't like him you have to deal with him until the next elections that's democracy. If I'm right this HAS to be put up to vote as it's a recall, correct me if I'm wrong. Europeian Ambassador to The South Pacific

I do think unibot is a polarizing person. Some people do not like him, and I sincerely think that is underlying a lot of the feelings that cursing is something worthy of recall. I don't think it was okay for him to use a highly misogynist curse word. But the best way to deal with that is to talk to him privately and let him know that it's not okay and that its offensive. Pulling a political move like this is just going to cause unnecessary tension.
I agree that he is a polarizing person, and feelings toward him might make people more likely to support this, but I would be proposing a recall regardless of who it was holding the position. I think this went far beyond what should be allowed, and I don't want someone who keeps blaming others for something that is very clearly his fault (mostly, if not entirely) to remain in such an important position. It reflects badly on the region, and it destroys any confidence I might have had in his ability to keep things civil as is important with this position.

Essentially, the IRC is like international waters? Even so, is questioning Unibot's character grounds for a recall? The Code of Laws states that "The Assembly may recall any elected or appointed official."
It does not state that The Assembly has to have a reason to do so. |
