Citizenship and Posting
#81

This fell through last term because of discussions on wording which I hope we can move past quickly this time. I think calling all registered members citizens is a great idea and more encompassing.

Then the masking for people who sign up for voting can be something like Registered Voter.

I like this idea a lot as well, Rebel.

As do I

It would avoid the hair-splitting, admittedly mostly driven by myself, that the usage of the present terminology has caused.

Oh, I've split some hairs myself, but I don't necessarily think that reclassifyin' the names'll necessarily end it.

But it would better match the generally accepted interpretations of "Citizen" and "Voters" and leave less space for mischief over definitions!

What would be the requirements to be registered to vote?

I believe they are talking about changing the terminology, not the requirements. Meaning that current residents would be called citizens, and that citizens would be called registered voters.

I do not participate in the regional server, but I am happy to talk through instant messaging or on the forum.

That doesn't work, as not everyone registered on these forums is a resident.
