The Frost Empire has passed legislation indefinitely delaying the demobilization of the Imperial Frost Military. The Empire justifies its decision citing the RIM (whose core leadership remains at large) BU-Izaakia tensions and BU encroachment on Rainbow Islands and Cordelia.

Izaakia announces that the solstice bank holidays will be extended over the whole week until Christmas, creating a 5 day national holiday. This is due to the substantial increase in Christian population under izaakian control.

Empress Astrid today made a surprise appearance at the first Arctic Fox Hunt of the season. Arriving by private jet from Winston island, she launched the hunting season, did a days hunting and is believed to have then flown back to Winston island to carry out the search for HIA 402. Left wing commentators are outraged at such conspicuous use of wealth at the detriment to the environment.

Returning from a 2 day meeting with industry leaders, President Vonkeler reassured the press that the UA has no quarrel with the Frost Empire and that the military presence on FiHami and Ansersia are there mearly to protect UA shipping routes and that the military bases in no way will be used by other BU members as the other BU members have come to respect the UA global independence.

War on Fat

Izaakian minister for health Aislinn DeOlicana has today announced a war on fat, announcing a 40% tax on unhealthy food. The increased tax will be used to subsidise the cost of healthier foods such as fruits and vegetables.
Along side this tax, a get fit scheme has been launched, and achieving the level of fitness required entitles the person to a 2% lower tax rate as a refund for lower usage of services such as health.
