Tributes are being paid to former Prime Minister Rafael Cooper's wife Yasemin Cooper who has died at the age of 100. On the largest event of the izaakian calendar the Empress Astrid hosted King Iannis of Proktethia for a successful day of events including a bonfire, fireworks, and a battle reenactment followed by a feast. However, in La Montagne the La Montagne Colonie Company we’re hosting their solstace party at the Grand Julius and Artemesia Hall. The event however, did not end well, after a firework set fire to the building. Due to a fault in the fire exit system the exit doors were locked shut as opposed to automatically opened, and due to the age of the building and the time it took for the fire crews to arrive on the busiest night of the year it was unsafe for fire crews to enter. It is believed as many as 5000 people have perished including most of the mercenary force that invaded la Montagne and the board of the LMCC. Across the La Montagne Region remaining mercenary forces began looting and were suppressed, with no survivors. During the looting CEO and former PM the Right Honourable Ernest LeRogue, Duke of Olicana was attacked, and is now fighting for his life in a coma.

There have been claims of a massive military build up around the border of southern UA. Neither President Vonkeler or the UA military has responded to these claims yet.
