Our History: What should we work on first? Jasper Henn
Here's a provisional brief history of Farengeto during the second millennium, might be a few retcons I missed.
1071 - Kingdom of Farengeto conquers the Kingdom of Kylon in the third Farengeto-Kylon War 1204 - Beginning of the Personal Union between the Kingdom of Farengeto and Kingdom of Modia 1217-1394 - Farengeto conquest and unification of the Kingdom of Lagahti 1501-1563 - The Vulcer Trade Wars, ending in the Farengeto conquest of the Vulcer Republic 1724 - Farengeto colonization of the Cephio Islands begins 1852 - Monarchy overthrown during the Revolutions of 1852, First Farengeto Republic installed 1940 - Republic overthrown, Farengeto Empire declared 1947 - Dictatorship overthrown, Second Farengeto Republic installed
I believe Llamas put together some eras/ages to be used as a point of departure.
Some things we need to consider before starting to RP: 1. Basics of the planet of TSP
3. What do we want to RP? Wars, scientific advances, migration, geological disasters? 4. What level of detail should be used? Character, nation/tribe, or a global perspective (as in adding pieces of information sequentially and individually)? 5. Technological level and realism. What about nations with aliens and non-humans etc? 6. Adding/removing pieces of information. There will be nations coming and going, gaining relevance and loosing it. What is the "flexibility" of the history records? 7. Who would manage collecting the pieces and writing a coherent document?
Run down of Resentine's History:
1455: The Resentine Kingdom is Founded, under the Corbantis bloodline. 1564-1576: Serf Rebellion, establishment of Citizen's rights. 1624: Corbantis bloodline dies out, Valhalla bloodline takes the throne. 1734: Baliish Colony established, The rule of two regents established. 1866: Resentine begins to industrialize. 1875: Industrialization ends, state corruption begins. 1884: Government Leaders are executed by the King, The Civil War begins. 1895-1900: The Battle of Talloran 1915: A Ceasefire is made, King Claudius II is poisoned and dies. 1939: King Julius II is assassinated, The Civil War starts up again. 1971: Queen Genevieve abdicates to Claudius III, Rebel Capital of Balent is captured. 1973: Southern Resentine is secured, the war unofficially ends. 1980: Surviving rebel leaders assassinated by Special Forces, War officially ends. Reconstruction begins. 1985: The Federation is established by Claudius III, along with Federation Parliament. Rule of Two Regents ends. April 12, 1985: Resentinians vote for the first time. April 12 is established as the official voting day country-wide.

Some major Sedunnic historical events: 20,000 years ago: the first parts of Sedunn (western slopes of the Limmvasd mountain ridge) are settled 4,000 years ago: rest of Sedunn settled 500 BC: Sedunn is completely consolidated under an elective monarchy 46 AD: first official trade agreements with foreigners 10 BC - 500 AD: era of trade and prosperity, several new cities founded. 500: Sedunn is invaded by rivals. Sedunn wins the war, but only barely. 500 - 900: era of isolation, decline and closed borders. 902: isolation ends, many explorers are sent from Sedunn to renew contact with the outside world 1221: Vastraenn settled 1622: the Revellians attempt to colonize and conquer Sedunn 1752: the Brannish launch an invasion. The war wages on for two decades and is very costly for both sides, but the war ends in a total victory for Sedunn 1800s: Sedunn is industrilized 1842: modern parliamentary system introduced, power shifts from the local county governments to the population 1875: Vastraenn granted countyhood 1920 - 1937: Sedunn is involved in a local "cold war"
My personal opinion on the topics brought by Qwert is that the best solution would be to presume that the part of the world not shown on the map host roughly the real life northern part of the world, so that historical and cultural reference are allowed, while keeping RP confined in TSP. I don't think the lack of contact should necessarily be explained, it would be enough to agree to "ignore" the real world.
As far as technology and realism, I think RL levels are the best options, but allowing a loosening of the restriction when it's just for flavour and not relevant for RP outcomes. About the incongruences (nation coming and going, different populations living side by side etc.) we should roll with it, making a coherent ensamble would be an impossibly titanical effort. Bruuma and Puerto Pollo History line Bruuma 6000 BCE: The island is first settled by tribes of Austronesian hunter-gatherers. For thousand of years their descendants live in villages scattered in the forests. 1666 CE: English adventurers conquer the island and establish it as a Colony of the British Crown 1679: The first African slaves are imported to work in the plantations in substitution of the dwindling native workforce 1722: The last recorded sighting of a Bruuman native 1838: The abolition of slavery is effectively implemented on the island 1922: The topic of independence is first discussed by the Afro-Bruuman educated elite 1931: The voodoo communist Workers' Mojo Party is founded by Papa Unclepear 1932: The first acts of violence against colonial forces. 1942: The independentist movements launch a guerrilla campaign. The WMP establishes its armed wing, the Bruuma Voodoo People's Liberation Front. 1956: The rebels and the colonial authorities sign a peace deal. Bruuma becomes independent. The BVPLF stages a coup and establishes the Voodoo People's Republic of Bruuma 1968: The first oil field is discovered offshore Zombieskaya 1969: Bruuma sides with the Soviet Union during the Sino-Soviet split 1970: After an attempted coup by some generals, Papa Unclepear found its personal elite corp, the Red Jujus 1991: In lights of the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Bruuma reestablishes ties with China 1994: The first tourist are allowed in the country, albeit with many restrictions. 2001: Persistent rumors of Papa Unclepea's death after he's not seen in public for some months. He reappears suddenly. Bruuman exiles and some experts assert he's a substitute. 2005: The last coal and oil fired power plants are closed. The country rely on a mix of gas-fired and renewables. 2014: The Bruuman People's Defense Forces invade Puerto Pollo in support of the Bruuman-backed militia Pollos Endemoniados Revolucionarios. Puerto Pollo is turned into a Bruuman Protectorate Puerto Pollo 5000 BCE: The island is first settled by tribes of Indio hunter-gatherers. The Army stages a preemptive coup and establishes a junta. The First Civil War begin 1980: The Communist rebels merges under the moniker of the Fuercas Armadas Revolucionarias de Puerto Pollo 1990: The First Civil War ends with an internationally brokered peace deal. The country is in ruin. 1990-2012: The island is contended by former rebel leaders turned cartel kingpins and their private militias 2012: The already weak government collapses. The Second Civil War begins between the Bruuman-backed, pseudo-communist Pollos Endemoniados Revolucionarios and the Fuerca Democratica Portuaria, a coalition of anti-PER cartel militias. 2014: The Bruuman People's Defense Forces invade Puerto Pollo in support of PER. Puerto Pollo is turned into a Bruuman Protectorate

Here's Ryccia's history:
Around 600 AD: The Kingdoms of Ry and Cia unite in a dynastic union. 603 AD: Ryccia(then the United Kingdom of Ry and Cia) starts expanding south of the present day Cia Autonomous Division. 730 AD: The Kingdom of Seaside is conquered. UKRC gains the coast(then, Seaside used to be the entire coast). The conquer was actually favoured by the Seasidians, as Ry, Cia and Seaside had the same culture, and wanted an united group. 800 AD: The Flowerbell Tribes are conquered. 801 AD: UKRC renames itself Ryccia, joining the kingdoms's names. The extra c was actually from Seaside, as in those times, the s was written as a c. This later changed in 1203 AD. 1070 AD: The Kingdom of Tigon was conquered. Tigon spoke french, and they were different culturally. Tigon still speaks french to this day. 1100 AD: The Moonlight Empire is conquered. 1167 AD: The Tal Principality(then Talya and Listberg combined) is conquered. 1195 AD: The Avazpahah Emirate is conquered. 1245 AD: The Grand Duchy of Nishu is conquered. Nishu was also culturally and ethnically Ryccian, but its people were not happy by the conquest, as they were loyal to their Grand Duke above all. 1300 AD: The Tzardom of Oberus(then Oberus and Wisert) is conquered. Wisert was Ryccian land until 1030 AD, when the Tzardom of Oberus conquered it. 1329 AD: The Spanish-speaking La Vina Kingdom is conquered. La Vinian deportations make diasporas of La Vinians across Ryccia(like Nueva España) after a rebellion the same year after the conquest, in which the La Vinian Restitance lost. 1373 AD: The Great Conquest. The Aralian Kingdom, Lyccian Empire and Azimi Caliphate are conquered. 1925: The Ryccian Democratic Republic is established after the 35-year long Democratic Revolution. 1972: The Mindonian Kingdom is conquered after a communist coup overruns the country, thus causing the Communist Kingdom of Mindonia. Discontent make the Mindonian people seek help from Ryccia, and for liberating them, the new post-communist Mindonian Government signed a treaty, the Treaty of Lanchaster, making Mindonia part of Ryccia, after a referendum. This was because Mindonia was facing an economic crisis ever since the 50's, and it was "irreparable". Ryccia fixed Mindonia's economy as part of Ryccia, and two new referendums both in 2006 and 2013 showed that a 79% majority wanted to be with Ryccia. Mindonia and Ryccia had always been friends to each other, and Mindonians and Ryccians are friendly to each other, like family even. In both Mindonia and Ryccia, there is a saying stating: "If a stranger tells you he's your friend, he's either lying, or is a Mindonian(Ryccia)/Ryccian(Mindonia)". 2013: The Constitutional Monarchy of Ryccia is established.

Darkstrait's History [which is very much based on and parodying actual history]
3000 BCE: Ranbon explorer-colonists reach Darkstrait. 700: Sosanian civilization thrives, sending trade ships as far southwest as what is now Bruuma. 300: Suillan emperor Adrezander the Great conquers the nearby islands. 100: Stenian empire begins to rise. 100 CE: Stenian empire is at its height, controlling all of the Rainbow Islands southwest of Darkstrait and as far east as the former UCSR. 400: Stenian empire collapses under invasion from the Ceretenes and internal rebellion from the Causians. 450: Darkstrait is divided up into hundreds of tiny kingdoms. 1150: The kindoms unite to form the Secular Stenian Empire. 1547: Secular Stenian Empire begins to fracture as Martin Athei schisms from the Stenian Agnostic Not-Really-Church, forming the Atheist Movement. Soon John Philosoph and Henry Irreveran start their own secular movements as well. 1603: The regional governments of the Secular Stenian Empire go to war with each other over the matter of religion (or lack thereof). The Secular Stenian Empire is hopelessly fractured. 1850s: The primary Darkstraitese kingdom, Prusuil, begins to exert dominance over the other kingdoms. 1871: Under Chancellor Otto von Skotino, Darkstrait is united. 1914-1918: A major war devastates the Darkstraitese economy, with no clear victor. 1919: Communist movements take hold in Darkstrait. Three years later, after a civil war, the Communist party rules Darkstrait. 1925: After the death of the old Chancellor, Josef de Staren takes control and rules as a brutal dictator for the next thirty years. 1939-1945: Another major war in northern TNP takes place. 1941: Darkstrait is invaded by Bundesdeutschland during the war. 1947: After the division of Bundesdeutschland among the victorious powers, de Staren blockades several major cities. 1955: de Staren dies. Control of Darkstrait goes to Nikolai Krusche. 1962: Krusche stations ballistic missiles in Bruuma against the suspected threat of TSSS, leading to the Bruuman Missile Crisis. 1970: The Communist Party replaces the aging Krusche. Five more replacements are made within the next ten years, ending with Michael Gorbisch. 1989: The Bundes Wall is torn down in Bundesdeutschland, showing the weakness of Communist Darkstrait. 1991: Attempted coup d'etat against Gorbisch. It fails, but hastens the end of Communist Darkstrait. 1992: The Darkstraitese Empire is established after several weeks of turmoil. Adrian Turnipseed is elected Emperor. 1997: Turnipseed's term ends. Windle Poons is elected Emperor. 2002: Ymper Trymon is elected Emperor. 2007: Trymon is reelected, despite decreasing support, due to decline of other political organizations. 2013: Imperial Crisis. Riots and rebellions lead to the disbandment of the Imperial Mandate and the establishment of a socialist federation. Ezrolith Churn is appointed Acting Chancellor until elections can be held. 2014: Churn dies just before elections. His right hand man, Mustrum Ridcully, is elected Archchancellor. Ridcully begins to establish Darkstrait as a regional power by sending troops to the Sporaltryan War and to the Ryccian Civil War. 2015: Darkstrait continues to develop as a socialist state and influential nation.

History of Karnetvor:
2000 BCE: The territory that is now known as Karnetvor is settled. 850: King Peter the First founded the Karnetian Kingdom. At this time, the territory is divided in various kingdoms and city-states, the most powerful of them being the Kingdom of Corisia. 989: The Karnetian Kingdom conquers the western part of the actual Karnetvor after a series of wars with its neighbors. 1099: Karnetia defeats and annexes the Corisian Kingdom after a long series of wars, unifying the territory for the first time. King Julian IV declares himself emperor; the kingdom becomes the Karnetian Empire. 1348: Karnetia achieves its maximum territorial extension; besides controlling the present territory of Karnetvor, it controls territories on the south (the entire plot 44, known back then as "Southern Territories"), north, and east (parts of present-day Karlstadt). 1520: After sixty years of decline and territorial losses, the Karnetian Empire dissolved into five smaller states; Peach Creek, Endville, Hyreil, Molotov, and Nitraen. For the next 200 years, these kingdoms would compete for power and territory, waging constant wars between them. 1650: The kingdoms start colonizing and annexing lands in the Southern Territories. They take the northern half of the territories. First written mention of the name "Karnetvor" (derived from the Old Karnetvorian words Karnety, "eagle", and Voret, "land"; meaning "Land of the Eagles"). The name would be used for the entire territory. 1753: After a major war (the Southern War) between the Karnetvorian kingdoms for territory in the south, they sign a peace treaty, and form a mutual defense pact. 1859: Hyreil invades Molotov. The other kingdoms intervene in Molotov's favor, due to the mutual defense treaty. 1863: The conflict, known as the Confederate War, ends with a coalition victory. The kingdoms sign a treaty known as the Acts of Confederation, unifying themselves into a single entity, the Karnetvorian Confederacy (in practice, a loose federation with a common constitution). 1872: Tasternine is annexed. 1883: The National Tricolour (black, green, and red) is officially declared the national flag. 1895: The Southern Territories declare their independence from Karnetvor. It is recognized two years later. 1948: After a 15 year long internal conflict, Michael Andrević seizes the capital, Karnet City, and declares himself Prime Minister, installing the King of Peach Creek, Robert II, in the Karnetvorian throne as a figurehead. End of the Confederacy; the country is renamed Kingdom of Karnetvor. The Constituent Kingdoms of the Confederacy cease to exist as de jure political entities. 1989: A popular revolution overthrows the monarchy and declares a republic. James Hoffmann is elected as Karnetvor's first President. 2000: After 52 years of being a unitary state, Karnetvor becomes a federation under President Edward Forrester. Karnetvor obtains its present name (Federal Republic of Karnetvor). 2004: The Nationalist Party of Karnetvor (NPK) takes power. 2007: Trent von Mayer becomes President. He would rule as a dictator for five years. 2011: Massive protests against von Mayer are followed by an armed rebellion against the government. Start of the Karnetvorian Civil War. 2012: Von Mayer is overthrown. The rebels, led by Yaleksandr Kerenskiy, form a Provisional Government. 2013: End of the Civil War. Kerenskiy is elected President. 2014: Karnetvor gains voting rights in the Assembly of the South Pacific. 2015: Karnetvor intervenes in the Transsunerian conflict and the Darkstraitese Civil War. It also becomes a member of the Southern Cooperation Organization.
