Abortion is legal in GI-Land until the 12th week of the pregnancy.
Having an abortion after the 12th week is a murder. Furthermore we discourage abortion, if the decision was made freely or just because the woman forgot the pill, but the final decision lies always at the mother of the unborn embryo.

There's a mixed feeling with abortion in Huawan. It was not a major topic of discussion until the 1900's.
Peonic attitudes toward abortion were mostly tolerant and compassionate. People did not think it was wrong unless it was done unnecessarily. Even with the introduction of islam, abortion is only limited to the first 4 months of pregnancy, and it should be outlawed afterwards except when the mother's health is in danger. There was no written code about it. In the 1900's though, many of the population had expressed that abortion is unecessary due to unwanted pregnancy, and should only be allowed if the mother's health is in danger. The law was ushered in to entertain such. When The Peony, Doctor Yan, was given the crown, she gave an incredibly harsh unrevelation on the number of homeless children and orphans due to abortion. This is due to the fact that parents are not legally binded to care for their unaborted children. She also criticizes Peonic advocates, religious leaders and various other pro-life activists of a lack of plan for the unaborted children. "You say that you are pro-life, but you do not care for those that are not aborted. You do not have any plans for it." She questioned the Peocracy that if they were to outlaw abortion in such harsh ways, they should also figure out a plan to care for the children that are unaborted. It was then decided that unaborted children would be placed to care in state orphanages which have high qualities and reknowned for its progressive child-education methods.

In Erinor abortion is illegal except in cases of rape or if there is a major health risk to the mother. Even these measures are frowned upon by the conservative Revaran portion of the population, but there are many calls for the current progressive government to make abortion fully legal.

Unless there is a risk to the mother's life, or if the foetus/child has so severe physical defects that the likelihood of it surviving its first year is unquestionably low, or in the case of rape, the pregnancy may not be aborted after the 12th week. The procedure may not be initiated until at least two weeks after first contacting a health care institution, and during that time, at least two interviews with a psychiatrist must happen. There is an increasingly heated debate if the limit after which abortion is illegal should be raised. The limit was raised from 10 to 12 weeks in 2010.

It is always allowed before the 90th day of pregnancy. After that, it is allowed only for medical reason, which is to say when it poses a risk to the mother's body and mental health or if the baby present serious anomalies or deformities that poses a risk for the mother's body and mental health. The Bruuman regime however has been accused of practicing forced abortion, or to induce it without the mother's knowledge, as a mean of population control, mainly to eliminate babies with deformities or other impairments and to eliminate the lineage of dissenters and prisoners (this is said to be widely practiced in labor and re-education camps).
