"Mr. ẞinks, please tell everyone, we got a little change of plans. We will not head straight forward to Angelhaven after our lunch in the Königspalast, but the King will have the choice between visiting a cocoa plantage near Kernstadt or a salmon breeding station in Angelhaven. I will ask him this later on." "Ok, my Leader", the security guard answered. The young King now walked back to the e-car and sat next to Vimmru, closed the door and buckled up. Even though it's only a short way to the presidential train station, he wanted to stick to the law and his urge to drive safe. "Do you enjoy your cocoa?", he asked the moment he saw the Sedunnic head of state sipping on his cup of cocoa.

"It combines a nostalgic feeling of my childhood and what I like about coffee" answered Vimmru, looking down at the half empty cup.
"Having a cup of cocoa was one of the points on my to-do list when visiting GI-land. Do you usually drink it plain, or is it common to add cream, or chilli as I've heard some people prefer to do?" Vimmru asked?
"Usually I drink it plain. It just fits better for talks with my ministers or when reading books, newspapers, etc., but I do really like the version with whipped cream too. It fits more for the breakfasts on Sunday or for winter days, where you just want to remain cozy in bed or if you just sit in one of our many cafés. I've heard about the chilli-version too, but have to admit I've never tried it yet", Gianluca chuckled while saying the last part of the last sentence.
The black car had fastly accelerated to a speed of 100 km/h and was on the way to the station. Eventually it will stop in front of some kind of modern looking entrance, built of glass, steel and stone. A little glass roof would protect the leaders from rain, if there would be some, but fortunately Atlantis got sunny 15°C today. One of the security guards opened the door and the Leaders will enter the building, turn to the right and go down an escalator, until they reach a little underground train station. The black presidential high-speed train was already prepared for departure. "May I introduce you to our presidential high-speed train? Other leaders got planes or cars, we've got a train!" He waited for a first facial expression, before saying the perhaps unexpected: "Besides the other things of course!" He broke out into laughter, until he realised, it wasn't as funny as he thought, it'd be. The young king cleared his throat again and said to Vimmru: "You can take a look on it,", he pointed with one of his arms on the train, "if you want. We don't have time pressure. Even though we've got an own train, doesn't mean, we've got a strict timetable for it."

"Actually, there is a saying in Sedunn: 'sjomu ge vol levvt', or 'to go as a train', used for people, and especially politicians, who don't listen to the opinion of others. Maybe if other leaders don't have trains, they 'go like trains' instead..." Vimmru smiled. He walked closer to the train to inspect it. It had an interesting combination of colours, giving it a feeling of modernity and quality.
"Is this a modified version of a commercial train, or designed directly with the purpose of serving as presidential train?"
Gianluca liked the interest of the sedunnic king and thought about a similar saying in Atlantic. Unfortunately nothing came to his mind.
Instread he answered his questions directly: "Both actually. You can see and use similar trains as a private person, like I do e.g. too. It's not that I use this thing too often. But of course it got some upgrades. Bullet-proof e.g., the windows are tinted darker, it got a bathroom and a real kitchen and not only this 'bistro'-thing, where you can only get heated food and nothing REALLY fresh - even though the quality of our train food is pretty good, even if only heated. You can lay back better, there's a conference room and a working room, one meeting point with the press - but don't be afraid, we won't actually meet with those PR-guys until we arrive at Königspalast - underfloor heating, better air conditioning and you can take big luggage or bikes or so easier with you than in a commercial train."

Vimmru stopped walking along the train, satisfied with his 'inspection', and turned towards Gianluca. "Do you usually bring bikes with you?"
"Occassionally I do, yes. Sometimes you need just the nature and time to think for yourself outside of the city and riding my bike I like definitely more than just jogging. But the train would give place for more than one bike of course, it's only, I don't really have people with me, who could bring their bikes into the presidential train and do a day off with me. Even though "off" is never possible as head of state, but you probably can imagine that."
He just smiled friendly towards the other king.

"Oh, yes indeed", Vimmru answered. "When I find the time for it, I enjoy biking along the coast around Grovne, or indeed along river Setru. It is very relaxing, and, like you said, it stimulates thinking. You get a new perspective of things."
"That's true. Very true...."
He made a short pause until he proposed Vimmru to enter the train, went to the door and pushed the door-button. The entrance opened sideways, two little steps were visible now as well as a kind of dark blue carpeted floor. The little aisle ended in on the opposite side on another door. There were two possibilities given, where to go inside the train. On the right, there would be the driver's cabin, where the driver already set up the train for starting the journey, on the left would be the "travelling room". A room with around 4 beds and a few seats that you could adjust in any way possible. The aisle here was surprisingly broad in comparison to commercial trains, as there is much space between each row of seats and furthermore not on both sides a group of two seats. The floor was still dark blue carpeted, the "walls" were white and had sometimes a few decorative elements out of steel or even silver. The beds were freshly upholstered with white/turquoise bedclothes, that laid on a white matress, which laid on the rack made out of some special kind of wood. The seats were luxurious, as you could adjust them almost however you want, but there would be also integrated tables, a multimedia-entertainment-system, drink holders and a few more things, one could discover on a bit longer journey. Looking down the carriage you could only see the door to the next one, the one with the working room.

Vimmru had expected the interior to be more like the somewhat rebellious exterior, but the colours were not at all what he had assumed. The floor and the walls reminded him of the Great Grovne Palace, with its blue marble floors and white walls.
"It looks like a good way of travelling. What do you prefer doing on-board? Provided you can take a break from work" Vimmru asked. |
