That being said I'm very disappointed in Henn over this and it will influence my vote.

The way it'll probably happen is that people will bicker right up until elections begin anyway.

Not necessarily, I plan on motioning this to a vote as soon as it legally can.

What foreign policy debate are we talking about???

Im very disappointed Henn. Very. I am not sure yet about my support for a recall but seeing as your term is almost up as MoA, it would be largely symbolic.

I believe that people are saying that Henn could have created a debate in the Assembly if he didn't like your Foreign Policy, rather then trying to use corrupt tactics to keep you out of office.

I saw in the logs about how "red line regions" don't like me. That's not a foreign policy debate. :/

I don't think this is illegal or shows gross negligence as MoA, but this leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.  I've noticed a VERY increasing trend over the last few years with engaging people in private to lobby them to do something, and I think it's a cultural shift that degrades the fabric of an open democracy.

I have been approached via lobbying efforts more times in the last two years than all of the rest of my time in TSP, and 90% of the time I find it extremely distasteful.  People don't approach me to discuss issues any more, they are more interested in getting me to change my vote after the fact, or blindly support some sort of reform without seemly even considering my opinion.  I find all of the actions terribly distasteful.

Because of Henns actions, I think we were legitimately robbed of a foreign policy debate that could have been had in public, with participation from the entire region.  Now a lot of election talk and and issues will be overshadowed by petty personal differences instead of the actual issues in TSP.

I don't see how rehashing the old 'campaigning' debate is relevant when this issue is clearly different. This is a case of corruption and bribery. Not a case of being annoyed because someone has asked them to vote for them. The latter is Quietdad's First World Problem, the former is serious behaviour that could undermine the health of our democracy.

Just think: how many people haven't come forward to admit Henn has bribed them? How many people would be invited to join the CSS or appointed into deputy positions because they voted along the lines that Henn requested?

I applaud Arbiter's integrity for coming forward with this information.

First, let me just ask for calm here. Let's try to stick with the topic at hand rather than bring in all sorts of grievances from the past.

Edit: Apparently I was under the wrong impression -- as I was angrily corrected. Apologies.

Only about that one part, but thank you for your input tsu.

Actually, SB I brought up Belschaft's actions to you and the rest of the CSS when I was delegate and he was threatening me and trying to use illegal methods to get rid of people and you and a few others said, "He's done a lot of good for the region, he doesn't mean it, blah blah blah. Being an ahole is just his personality, etc."

So pardon my thinking that the hypocrisy runs strong there. And guess what I was right about Wolf too. Although I think many people like the policy of pretending that our recent MoFA election was not a farce of foreign influence attempting to hijack the region. GUESS WHAT - PRETENDING ITS ALL OKAY DOESN"T MAKE IT OKAY. Like seriously, that's a life lesson too.

So, SB - you didn't do or say anything to Belschaft about his horrific actions, even when I posted logs, until the entire region decided that they had enough. Waiting until everyone's upset about something, and its in your face blatant, to chime in with them doesn't give you any street credit. You were one of the people complicit in allowing Belschaft to go as far as he did. Not only that but you continue to BS about a justice system that has never worked in the way you propose. Cut down on some of the empty rhetoric and let your actions speak rather then empty words and failed institutions.

The laughable concept that people in TSP, for a long period of time, haven't been using IRC or Skype or even boards on other regions to discuss politics and engage in "backdoor politics" is so ridiculous. It's more a a low attempt to accuse vague insubstantial menaces for problems then simply engage in frank and direct speech. Or offer practical situations.

So keep it legit, or I don't know - keep it legit?

K?

I mean in the case of Wolf, et al - I feel like saying "I told you so" would be a little I don't know...wait I did tell them so. Smile

As for Henn, I think he probably should reconsider running for delegate and engage in community service or having a real legacy in some actual way so that when he does run for something (maybe a Ministry office or something) he can say, "Hey I made this positive, constructive "thing" for TSPers and this is why you should elect me," rather then "I'm friends with the right people inside and outside the region and either I'll barter for votes or get some foreigners in here to help me up."

I think its pretty calm unless someone engages in further theatrics. I mean people seem to be clamoring for honest debate, etc, although the use of logical fallacies is always interesting to keep note of. I mean rather then bring up nebulous past events, I'm sure people can be more direct and clear.

I always enjoy directness and clarity, its refreshing especially on a hot summer day Smile
