It's spreading abroad now? Yeah, that's me. It basically says "Viral selfie: Vimmru caught on vacation". I was at my mother's in Kodull hiking and the king just dropped in in the same cafe we sat. He agreed to a selfie! We then wished each other a pleasant hike, and he grabbed a coffee and left.

There's so many crap that's been flung in this region and there are many excuses for war. No one wanted to though, it's quite weird, the region is in a standstill in a elusive weird form of peace. As if all sides know that the end would happen if there is a war, and therefore are locked in a staring contest.
This may be the longest period of regional peace in this region after all.

The Kringalian President calling Rey's regime "democratic" is probably the best joke I've heard all week.
This is exactly what King Claudius meant in his statement last night. We cannot choose easy political alliances over our own morals. Time and time again Rey has been behind the violence, oppression, and arrests in his nation, and we have chosen to ignore it because we believed it was too "politically convenient". We can do so no more. Rey walks down the path of the many dictators before him, and the longer we continue to support him politically, the more likely he will simply become a threat to the globe at large.

Tapparad. What comes into mind? A destroyer? A galleon? Both would be correct, but a ship of the line and a cruiser would be equally correct. Naming the flagship of the Sedunnic navy Tapparad is an old tradition, stretching back to the 16th century and the first true Pacific Ocean crossings. Other than helping Sedunners and Karnetians make contact that fateful day in 1542, a ship named Tapparad was involved in many of Sedunn's historical moments.
We've compiled a list containing all the Tapparads and their varying fates. Which one is your favourite?
1538 - 1550
Yes, indeed, the first ship to be named Tapparad was the galleon that crossed the Pacific Ocean in 1542. No wonder they called it Tapparad (meaning courageous in Sedunnic). After this event, both the ship and its captain Linnerse obtained hero status.
Fate: The ship continued to cross the Pacific Ocean, continuing its mission of exploration and seeking out trade opportunities. After captain Linnerse died from a heart attack in 1549, command was given to Anntjy Krommlu. He immediately showed he was worthy of this command, after drunkenly having the ship run aground on Deriess Island on his first voyage. The ship sunk minutes after. For this achievement, he was rewarded a "neck extension" in front of a exhilarated crowd.
Today, to "krommlu" means something like to "ruin something of great importance through negligence" in Sedunnic.
1560 - 1589
The second ship to be named Tapparad was one of the largest warships the world had ever seen. Like with the original Tapparad, the end was a rather disappointing one. After limping home severely damaged after a battle south of Flered, it docked safely only to be struck by the lightning the day after. A fire started that reached the ships magazine, resulting in a devastating explosion.
1611 - 1663
Ship number three to be named Tapparad survived long enough to be decommissioned and used as living quarters for wharf workers in Ullenst. It was crucial to the protection of the Sedunnic merchant fleet crossing the Pacific, it's therefore featured on the 50-Tennle bill. Most records of its service were destroyed during the bombing of Essela military base during the Great War.
1664 - 1710
Continuing the "the bigger the better" tradition, the fourth Tapparad was one of the largest ships in the world when launched. Among other things, it participated in the Trade War against Sovonor during Kringalia's independence war. After its 36 years of service, it was decommissioned in Grovne.
1710 - 1750
The Tapparad launched in 1710 (a ship-of-the-line) is best known for fighting pirate ships. Nicknamed the "Blue Executioner" under the hated captain Mapsjienn, this Tapparad notoriously hunted down and sunk pirate ships, even when they struck flag. This tactic, intended to discourage piracy, only infuriated the pirates further. The ship was broken up in 1750.
1750 - 1771
The threat from pirates to the cross-Pacific trade routes only escalated. In 1759-1771 Sedunn and Karnetia committed to eliminating the pirates, and the Tapparad was deployed to participate. In one of the last major engagements, the Tapparad was hit by an improvised burner and exploded shortly after. Despite the Tapparad's fate, the anti-piracy operations were are success, effectively ending the threat to the cross-Pacific trade.
1780-1846
The seventh Tapparad was the first Tapparad to break the "the bigger the better" tradition, built for greater speed and manoeuvrability (which its predecessor apparently had lacked). Before the Second Trade War in 1790-1791 it patrolled the Tasternine-Sedunn trade route. During the war, its captain became famous enough for his craftiness to be elected king in 1811, becoming Bettu I (dre Freamm). Rather than having the ship broken up at the end of its service, he issued an order to preserve it. It can still be visited today in Ullenst.
1852-1900
The Tapparad launched in 1852 was the first larger Sedunnic navy steam ship. During the Confederate War in Karnetvor it lead escort missions and participated in the blockade against Hyreil. When the shift towards steel occurred in naval technology, the ship was reduced to a transport ship. Renamed the Ejnarasted, it frequented Poljiered, Sraved, and Levenst, until broken up in 1900.
1870-1912
The Tapparad launched in 1870 was Sedunn's last class to be equipped with muzzle-loading guns. It was the first of the Tapparads since the original one not to participate in a war. A noteworthy moment in its service was laying down the last section of the trans-Pacific telegraph cable between Petrovka, Karnetvor and Grovne, Sedunn.
Stay tuned for part 2, where technology and action reach new levels!

Last time, we covered all the Tapparads until the last one to be equipped with muzzle-loading guns. Early in the 20th century tension between the major naval powers increased to the brink of war. Let's say it was to become explosive.
1883-1915
Nearing the end of the 19th century, almost every year there seemed to be yet another major breakthrough in naval technology. The 1883 Tapparad was more like a test platform form for new technology rather than an actual warship. Never had a flagship of the Sedunnic navy been equipped with so few guns compared to the rest of the fleet's ships, yet this ship could boast a pair of the most accurate, long-shooting guns there was. After several refits and a change of name (to Sraved), it was hit by a torpedo, exploded violently, and sank during the First Battle of Lutra Strait in 1915 against the Empire of Ubesii.
1896-1942
Studying the performance of the 1886 Tapparad, the new flagship that entered service in 1891 was essentially a larger and more powerful version than its predecessor. It served with distinction in both the First Battle of Lutra Strait and the battle of Grovne. During its service it received three major refits, before it was scrapped a few years before the Great War, badly damaged by corrosion. In a popular vote, this ship was awarded the title "Most beautiful ship of all time". Do you agree?
1930-1951
The 1930 Tapparad was a seaplane cruiser and carried eight Nitt II light torpedo planes, being the closest the navy ever got to a real carrier ship. Before the Great War, it patrolled the important trans-Pacific trade route, like many other Tapparads before. It was to play an important role during during the fateful Second Battle of Lutra Strait.
There were three major phases: the first being an envelope manoeuvre tricking the Tekarian navy closer to the northern shores, then combined attacks were carried out by the mobile coastal artillery, strike craft and the navy itself, completed by a total encirclement of the Tekarian navy by Sedunnic submarine forces. The operations were initially led by the Tapparad, which actively took part in the battle. Before the second phase could start, however, the ship was hit by multiple rounds fired by a Tekarian battleship, forcing it to withdraw. Several hull breaches soon called for immediate evacuation, but the ship that came to assist lost rudder control (hit by a Tekarian torpedo?) and collided with the Tapparad. The collision made the Tapparad sink at a faster rate, trapping over 3/4 of the crew inside.
1951-1982
The 1951 Tapparad (first named Vetemo Hetted) was launched just before Sedunn entered the Great War. When Essela military base was attacked by Karnetvorian bombers, the ship was present refuelling. Legend has it that it was an anti-aircraft crew of the Vetemo Hetted that fired the first Sedunnic shots in the war, which still is bitterly but brotherly contested by anti-air crews in the army. The truth is that it was fighter pilots that had fired the first shots against the bombers before they came to Essela.
After the flagship had been lost at the Second Battle of Lutra Strait, replacement was needed, and the Vetemo Hetted was chosen, thereby getting a new familiar name. During the rest of the war, it participated in most Sedunnic naval operations, and was the first destroyer to be fitted with anti-ship missiles just before before the end. The ship has been preserved as a sailing museum, but it mostly stays at its own dock in Grovne.
1982-2013
After the Great War the need to maintain expeditionary capabilities was low, many subsequent governments thought. The number of ships, and the number of unique classes, was reduced. Instead, multi-purpose ships were built to partly compensate. The 1982 Tapparad had anti-air and anti-ship missiles, cruise missiles for land attack, room for helicopters and amphibious troops. This configuration made it well-suited to help deny the navy of nationalist Karnetvor access to the waters around Tasternine to support the islands declaration of independence in 2009. The Tapparad was taken out of service and replaced in 2013, but two other ships of its class continue to serve as anti-air destroyers.
2013-
The latest Tapparad is the most powerful ship ever in the Sedunnic navy and its newest member. It participated in the joint operations against Soormann and his fighters in the Second Transsunerian Civil War, and has been deployed to "hotspots" around the world on numerous occasions. It's currently patrolling the trans-Pacific trade route. The seas are accustomed to the presence of the Tapparad.
Further away on the blue. The horizon belongs to you.
