Pacivision – This is a music show broadcasted to millions of households all around Pacifica. Based on the Eurovision Song Contest.

How to Participate?
This year there will be some rule changes, last year has not gone as we hoped. We'll be increasing participation by RPers. Pacivision will now include RP of your entries like in the Worldvision Song Contest. While you don't really have to RP, it will be considered when judging the entries.

What do I do in the IC post?

The IC post will be up on the day of the show, while waiting you could prepare your entry. After the first post, you'll be able to post your entry there immediately. But please be aware of your order of appearance which would be posted here after the allocation draw.

How to write an entry?
There's no correct way to RP in this. Just think of it as what you could do. As much or as little as you want to. But it should include at least the stage ready graphic, the song, and the lyrics. Also, if you want to add any pictures and graphics, you can.

Postcard
During the allocation draw, the location of the postcards will be drawn too. Here, you can Imagine that the artists are doing anything. But mostly the Commentator will be giving additional information here.

Example

As the Ikoanian Act finished we see the screen shift to Steve and Alex walking through the Warallis Vineyard both excited to try some wine as the wind blew away Alex's hat. [Here the location is bolded]

Vu: Holy Freeans, next is our act coming up. Steve and Alex won the FreeMusicaGranPrix and got their ticket to Gralois. The song's name is "Mine Craft". It's about them making a life together in a humble dirt abode. I'm in the commentator's booth seeing as they are preparing the act. This is an exciting moment for all of us. Warning to those who are sensitive to flashing lights. [Vu is currently speaking Friean, but OOC we know what it means]

After they cheer and drink the wine. We see they kissed under the stars as the theme is shown. [Is this a teaser of the theme?]

Here you'll put in a graphic made by me which will display the order, country of origin, title, artist(s), and songwriters. I will be DMing you the graphic after the song is approved and checked that it doesn't break any rules. Speaking of "songs" and "rules"...

The Song, the Lyrics, and the Performance.

Song rules

There are three different kinds of entries, you may submit:

A) Submit an IRL Song
B) Submit an Instrumental and write lyrics and a performance for it
C) Submit a totally original piece of music

All entries need to follow certain rules:

1) All entries may not exceed five minutes in length.
2) The artist’s name has to be changed to an IC name.
3) If the text of a submission is in another language than Austral, a translation has to be provided. If the text contains IRL references, these have to be changed, so they fit into the Pacifica-canon.
4) When submitting a song of category A or C, a live performance is preferred but not needed, as you can write a performance yourself. Banned from submission are all Eurovision songs from 2021 and 2022, as well as songs from the Billboard Hot 100 of 2021 and the American Song Contest. (When it comes out, If applicable)
5) You may not submit winning songs of former editions of Pacivision, nor songs an active nation (= on the map) has formerly sent to Pacivision, nor songs an inactive nation (= not on the map anymore) has formerly sent to Pacivision in the last five years. Sending a song of an artist, another nation has used already in former editions of Pacivision may only happen with their consent.

While you could just put in the song and lyrics and call it a day but what's the fun in that. Let's add some of the Artist's feelings and their performance.

Example

Steve starts to shake, it's been a really long journey to get here. As the stage-ready sound plays, the crane camera focus on him. The LED panel behind him shows a forest, in the rain.

Waking up and look
I see the trees
Starts to cut them and bring
Back home, starts to rain.

Focus turns to Alex as she is playing on the piano. As the steady-cam spins around her.

Crafting something new
Just for you, today
Hope to cheer you up
Wondering what to say

The Screen splits in half making it look like they're pining for each other through the rain. The violin starts to play.

Waiting here for you
Even though it is hard
Through this rainy day
It's mine craft, it's mine craft

As she walked away from the piano. Picking a necklace and holding it up for the camera. Walking towards Steve.

Little happiness,
That I have, with you.
Is enough for me to say
I'm in love, I do

The two meet together in the middle as they look into each other's eyes.

Coming back at last
Putting on your craft
Wait to hear you say
Something, to me, mine craft.

At last he puts on the necklace and holds her hand.

The Example isn't that great but you get the gist.

What if I'm not ready to post yet?
If the IC post is up and you're the one who needs to post next, put in a placeholder/reserve it instead. And let the others post. But make sure you put in your performance before Voting begins or you'll be Null points. (Disqualified: All your public votes are nulled and the jury vote is changed)

What about the other stuff?
About the green room and voting will be announced later to make sure that someone won't post it before it was supposed to be posted. So it will be posted before the interval acts.

Also, if asked to change your post please do so as the post might include something not canon in Pacifica.

I might delay or even cancel something during this RP, so let me apologize in advance.
