[DISCUSSION] Organisation of Treasure Island
#21

We can still learn, write down a Charter and interact with the SCO political and economically.

As for Market Street, I want to open a Pizzeria where the clients design their pizzas.

Then therefore, let us put heads together, and write a charter!

We'd need a unified leader, though.

We need an official committee.
I think that Bantam Harbor should be neatly categorized: SCO, SSU, Wars & Combat, Embassies, News, and Miscellaneous (this would be for stuff like IPSA and other threads that don't really fall into any category above neatly).

I have received a request for a SSU subforum. I sympathize with that, but subforums are made based on necessity. For example, the SCO got a subforum because of the large amount of threads it was producing, not because we wanted or needed to give it more prominence.

With this I would like to bump this thread, also. I have seen some good suggestions and ideas here, and I would love to start discussing specific ways to reform Treasure Island. I would support keeping Market Street, but doing away with Port Royal, and seriously revising the structure of Bantam Harbour, to accommodate newspapers and international organizations.

I do not participate in the regional server, but I am happy to talk through instant messaging or on the forum.

That was me. I suggested the idea so that posts of the various South Pacific organizations could be easily at hand for future roleplay even if not updated with new replies. What if we put them all in a specific subforum or in the important threads?

This is a list in no particular order of prospective divisions for Treasure Island:

Bantam Harbour (Main RP Section - Wars, Rescues, Diplomatic and International Events)
International Organisations (Needs a Name - International Summits, Organisations and Documents)
Newspapers (Needs a Name - For National and International Newspapers)
Market Street (Self-Explanatory)
Bureau of Cartography (Self-Explanatory)

What I'd like to discuss is whether these sections are needed, if any other is needed, and how to organise them, meaning in what order each should go, which one should go within which, and so on.

All should be separated from one another. You have to keep up with several forums at a time to keep up with government stuff, it should be no different for TI.

The Needy Pub for newspapers.

An Oak tree for international organizations.

I feel that the SSU would be like an Embassy subforum. Possibly not active a lot, but still there in case it is needed.

A suggestion:

Role-play (old name: Treasure Island):
  • World of TSP (old name: Bantam Harbour): discussions and similar about RP. Sub forums:
    - Role-plays (Wars, Rescues, Diplomatic and International Events)
    - International Organisations (I think that could be a good enough name)
    - Newspapers (same here)
  • Market Street
  • Bureau of Cartography

I like self-explanatory names (but I'm not 100% happy with "World of TSP" and "Role-plays"), maybe "World of TSP" and "Role-play" could swap places. Anyway, if we are to go with the organisation proposed in the quote, we either should have all self-explanatory names or names like "Bantam Harbour" or "Sea Breeze Bazaar" (=Market Street) etc for every division.
