"Fair point, ma'am," Magnussen said with a chuckle. "All that aside, I was wondering if your people would be receptive to crop exports from colonies like mine."
"Yes, we would. By increasing the diversity in foodstuffs available to us we ensure a stronger redundancy, should our domestic crops contract a severe, incurable disease. We must of course check your crops to see if they are compatible with the races in the Treecuu Star Empire."
"That'd be a good idea. Especially if gene editing of the crops takes longer than expected. Still, I am excited to see the markets open for us. My wife and I love making traditional dishes from other cultures, so I will admit to having a slight ulterior motive." The human giggled as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Let us hope we can make it happen" Teemas responded with a friendly smile.
"Looking forward to it, ma'am," Magnussen said with a grin that stretched from ear to ear. "You ever come to New Aberdeen, you're always welcome in my town."
"Mister Magnussen, thank you for joining us tonight," Numonis said with a soft smile.
"Thank you" said Teemas and nodded.
"Thank you for having me." Magnussen smiled before pressing something outside of the view of the holoprojector, causing his image to fizzle out of existence.
"It's always wonderful to chat with ordinary citizens. Keeps me grounded, you know?"
"Indeed. One should always strive to maintain the perspective of the ordinary citizen. The state and everything related exist to serve them."
